jahugo 0 #1 May 27, 2003 Hi there, I need some advise here, please. I currently jump a ZP EXE 155 square (SA make) and have about 70 jumps on it. Wingload is about 1.4, and I weigh about 198, exit weight about 220. Landing it is no problem; it is a nice canopy. I'm on my way to buy a Saber2, but looking at the load charts on PDs website, a Saber2 150 is not for me. Are these charts 100% correct? Or am I making a big mistake going down to a semi the same size as my square? Thanks in advance. Regards, Jacques

CanuckInUSA 0 #3 May 27, 2003 Quote 1.4 at 70 jumps? Holly crap! You're jumping to conclusions here (which may or may not be true). The jumper in question said that they have 70 jumps on the canopy loaded at 1.4:1 but they didn't mention how many jumps they have period. I have 61 jumps on a Sabre2 canopy loaded at 1.4:1 here in CO (60 of 61 are stand ups). So does that shock you as well? SkydiveMonkey 0 #6 May 27, 2003 Not a fan of the exe at all - it's dumped me down close to the ground before, and I've only just been able to recover it (no turbulence). Spoke to a couple of other people who've had this as well on exe's.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
nicknitro71 0 #7 May 27, 2003 I know couple of guys jumping Sabers 2 at 1.7 without any problems. The best thing to do is to call or e-mail PD directly.Memento Audere Semper
BMFin 0 #8 May 27, 2003 Why would you buy a canopy the same size ? Are you just not happy with the way the zp.exe handles and just want to change to another one same size ? BTW. I dont know about the chute shop canopy sizing but, I would guess PD´s 150 Sabre2 is bigger than ZP.exe

BMFin 0 #10 May 27, 2003 because PD measures the canopys a bit different. If you look at the charts by PIA and paragear , you can see that PD´s canopys are always a bit bigger than according to PD, but the sizes given by most other manufactures go along with PIA´s measurements pretty well. jahugo 0 #11 May 28, 2003 Guys, Thanks for all the replies. I've recently won a 35% discount voucher on any PD canopy I buy ... so decided on a Saber2. I've got a total of 101 jumps, and the ZP EXE is a very nice canopy if you are on a tight budget. I just thought that there is a "secret rule of thumb" comparing a square with a semi eliptical of the same size. Meaning, if you jump a 155 sq, you need to jump a 170 semi ... someting like that. Cheers, Jacques
nicknitro71 0 #12 May 28, 2003 Given your experience I would not go any smaller than 150. At 1.4 I bet you'll like the Saber 2 a lot.Memento Audere Semper
