If you want to go cheaper, I wouldn't switch to digital. Buy a Rebel 2000 or something like that and a decent scanner that can scan film. Total cost will be around 500 or so. Deuce 1 #3 March 5, 2004 Be patient and wait until you can get a digital rebel. Otherwise you will outgrow whatever compromise you end up getting and you will be out that money too. The two guys on my DZ who were shooting Sony and Canon point and shoots have gone Rebel, so that money is lost . It's more efficient to wait and get something good. Even the guys with Rebels are starting to come up against the capability of the camera, and are wanting the 10D. Don't do it, Jake. Wait and get a Rebel on Ebay. BETO74 0 #5 March 5, 2004 That's what I did, I still don't have that many jumps on stills and did not wanna risk it, is good to know somebody else came up with the same reasoning.http://web.mac.com/ac057a/iWeb/AC057A/H0M3.html

If you only get your film developed (and not printed), it's fairly cheap to shoot film. It's just the instant gratification (or disappointment sometimes) that is lacking.
