What plane is this # 34

Recommended Posts

So all you ace's out there, what plane is this? marking were removed, play nice.:)
All I can tell you is this is not a jump plane and getting to jump it was a VERY special treat to be allowed to make a jump from it, this maybe the first time one of these has been jumped??? But I would find it hard to believe that back in the day Tiny B. and the like didn't jump these. For sure the first time this plane was ever jumped in it's long history of flying, according to the owner.

Hint: there is only SEVEN left flying in the world! And only 77 total were built.

Four, my fat ass and 3 skinny people. The owner told me when they rebuilt it (first flight was june 1-08) that they put extra support in the wing strut area for wingwalking on it.

Sweet ride for sure!

I don't know what it is. A crop duster of some type?

It's a 1929 White "new standard" D25A biplane. There were only 77 total ever made and only seven left flying in the world today. This plane and many others were indeed used as crop dusters in the 30's and 40's.

This airplane was restored from a crop duster back to orginal and made it's first flight back last month, after a few years of restore work by the pilot. It's is now on tour and being flown at airshows and fly in's giving rides to folks.

That was an easy one! I went for a ride in one once... Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Previously used for running drugs. Room for 4 passengers and a pilot... or a bunch of drugs.
