Hi! I wanted to ask wich canopy to choose after backbone injury? Before the accident he jumped Vengeance 107 at wingloading of 1,8. Which canopy has the best on heading openings? And which is the best in this case in general?

I'm afraid there is no "right" answer to your question. There will be a large number of factors to be taken into consideration. The jumper, their doctor and the local chief instructor should all talk to one another to find the safest route to follow.

Probably the Pilot.

I think the Crossfire or Crossfire 2 are by far the softest openning canopies on the market and generally open on heading.

I've had nothing but great openings on my Nitron 135. Now that I have the larger replacement slider, all the openings are very nice and gradual.

Go with the Spectre. I crushed three vertebrae.

I vote for the Spectre.I have a 30% compression in T-12.Put alot of jumps on a Spectre.I jump an Alpha 145 load to about 1.7 now.

I've got three fused vertebrae. I chose a Spectre when I got back in the air after the surgery. Overall it opens soft, slow and on heading.

There are NO guarantees on soft openings on ANY canopy though. I've had two different Spectres spank me in the last 300 jumps, one time hard enough to break two D lines.
