Beer for an AFF level one is a little extreme in my opinion. At that point it ceases being a teaching and policing tool, or am I wrong. Now if you do something dangerous or stupid on an AFF jump, buy your beer.

double check those rules. looks like you're buying an awful lot of beer. i'm 3 cases in the hole- first jump, passing aff 7, and landing in the pond (the non swoop one at the other end of the lz). i'm paying up next time i jump on a sat.

lol. I don't think they are SERIOUSLY expecting that much beer but everytime I turn around it's another first. Before you know it they are going to catch on that i'm on dz.com and hit me for my first post. i figure when i finally get licensed (at this rate i might have 100 jumps before i get an A - damned spotting rules) I'll just have a BBQ and Keg on me. Sounds like a sweet deal. We all win.

I can speak with great authority on this topic as I'm the DZ Beer Marshall. It's my job to ensure that no beerable offense goes un-noted, the beer board is upt to date with names of the offenders who owe (including offense... the more embarrassing, the larger it is written for the world to see), and the fridge is full of an assortment of beverages.

that is why I would bring beer in the morning during my
AFF and then after my A license. If I did that "first thingy"
everyone would look at me and ...I would say "it's already
in the cooler". The day of my first malfunction 5/28 (bad day for skydiving overall) my beer was already cold and
in the riggers frig. I don't find it offensive at all. It's all part of the fun . Most or all of the staff are busy from 8am to 8pm and it's nice to have a cold one once the light goes on. The ice always seems to be the problem not the beer. I am having one as I speak. be well, be safe.

Um, read the fine print, if you accumulate a back-log of 3 or more cases of beer owed, you're also assessed 1 additional penalty case.

That's just a sampler platter...all that and more is to come...it's part of the sport.

"Firsts" are great as they are milestones and experiences which thicken your skin in some cases and in other cases, hopefully give you a heads up to being a safer better skydiver.
