This book is not specifically about skydiving, but talks a lot about the mindset of people who survive. But more importantly the psychology of how they get themselves into the situation in the first place.

Many of the stories in the book are about people participating in "extreme" sports like rock climbing, white water rafting, ocean sailing, etc.

I would definitely recommend it to other skydivers who want to learn about risk, decision making under pressure, ways of thinking to avoid getting into survival situations, and ways to recognize the situation you are in so you can back out before you are committed.

Not only a good subject, but very well written.

*****BUMP*****

This thread has some great information Liz & others shared with everyone a while back. After reading through the Incidents forum, I thought it deserved another look and/or bring it to the attention of those who might have missed it.

Stay safe people!!

Blue skies-

Thanks for the bump, Don. I kinda slacked and let this thread drift because I couldn't edit the original post anymore. But you are right.... some recent incidents brought this back to my attention too.

If anyone else has resources, add them in and I will build on the list. :)
