RonD1120 58 #3 July 2, 2009 QuoteWhy do my taxes have to support them? I heard on the radio awhile back, we have a generation of folks that no longer associate money with work. They associate it with the mail box. They are registered voters and politicians use these people to gain office and power. Their game is to get more votes, more power with your money. It's called Marxism, to Socialism, to Communism. We now have a president who has reached the pinnacle of that philosophy. We need to organize and get rid of these politicians the best we can in 2010 and BHO is 2012. "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." ~Margaret Thatcher (as best as I remember her statement)Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. BDashe 0 #11 July 2, 2009 sooo... become a banker. I opted not to because of the hours. Since we're in a (for now...) capitalist society, I figure i can go a route where I can enjoy my twenties and still position myself to work towards a pot of gold down the road. What a concept huh? work for money, pay for my healthcare, weigh career options, take action, and ultimately responsibility for my own wellbeing. I have no sympathy for panhandlers, no matter what form they take. take my tax dollars for law enforcement, the military, and infrastructure; but trips to argentina, universal healthcare, vacations on airforce G5s, and the purchase or forced purchase of private companies? No thank you, sir.So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
turtlespeed 212 #12 July 2, 2009 Quote>Why do my taxes have to support them? Because when you were younger their taxes supported you. Hmmm - No - Both my parents worked, when they had to. They EARNED money and payed the medical bills with either insurance from BCBS or the like. Never once did they, or those that came before them rely on the government to pay their house note, medical bills, car payment, buisness loans, or any other kind of grant, or loan or assistance. In short - NO - there was no SUPPORT from the government. They only PAID their taxes not lived off of others. I am along the same way - Even though I qualified for it, I never would let my family discrace itself by accepting government help anmd handouts, not by food stamps, not by WIC not by medicaide or care. I simply worked harder and longer until i could afford what I needed. I simply took another job and learned and bettered myself. If I can do it EVERYONE else can. Don't give me any of that BS about oooh they have a hard life - that is the laziest and most ascenine excuse for an excuse as ever there was.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

BDashe 0 #22 July 2, 2009 Quote I take it you also went to private school? Funny story- I went to public school, main reason being because the private schools in my area (obviously not true for the nation...) but anyway the private schools had much less regulation than the public schools. The teachers at the private school were actually a lower quality with less credentials; a bunch of these idiots ended up paying (a lot) for a lesser education Anyway, as long as one goes to school and makes an effort to get educated, he/she can keep moving forward, private education or public. As with everything, just make the effort and WORK for it. Anyone see that news article on CNN.com recently?
