I don't disagree with that. However, your concern seemed to be about setting a precedent and I don't believe that precedent is a factor in civil cases as it is in criminal. I'd like to hear a lawyer's take on this..

It's just as important. Think of Brown v. Board of Education as an example of a civil case that set precedent.

As an American Airman this makes me sick. What I dont understand, however, is why you never hear of these people "demonstrating" at other higher profile military events. Ive been in countless parades, volunteer oportunities, and various other "high profile" events. I havent been to one (thank God) military funeral. Just a thought but they look pretty much like media-whore cowards if you ask me.

Just my 2 pennies.

People minded. I minded. That is a terrible thing to do to a parent who has lost a child.

The only reason it gets more attention now (and it DID get lots of attention back then too) is because when they did it to Matthew Shepard's family, they were relatively unknown. Now they've been in everyone's face for years.
