PhreeZone 15 #4 August 28, 2002 Could it be Coolige? Or is this an extention of SkyDive Arizona? With the SDA Porter....Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
max 0 #5 August 28, 2002 The DZO is Marc Hogue who also owns Coolidge. The aircraft is leased from SDA.
bbarnhouse 0 #6 August 28, 2002 Um hummmm.....so the srticle in parachutist was in error in regard to Mike Mullins? Please calrify for all. Thank you
kevin922 0 #7 August 28, 2002 Well whoever owns the damn thing I hope they put the other DZ in vegas out of business... (unless this new DZ also doesn't allow experienced jumpers to jump there)
max 0 #8 August 28, 2002 which article? I think i missed that one
DTOXX 0 #9 August 28, 2002 LOL I saw a flyer in one of the casinos last week. It stated that in 20 minutes I could be flying in my first "Tandon". (just a typo I know but it was funny none the less.) ------- D.T. Holder SIMstudy
max 0 #10 August 28, 2002 Actually Marc wants the experienced jumpers at his place, thats why he is leasing the turbine aircraft. I think after the boogie circut, he is going to have a King Air in Vegas instead of the porter.
wildblue 4 #11 August 28, 2002 I can see the advertising slogan now: "Jump where real skydivers jump!" Good luck! Hope he does well!it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
christoofar 0 #12 August 28, 2002 Hmm... maybe we should all donate $100 towards them getting an Otter to put that tandem factory out of business. And then get all our drunken buddies to go with us to do their first tandems next time we go to Vegas. . Oh, and by the way, if you did 's AFF course, you'll need to pay $470 for a refresher jump course so you will be "O.K." to jump at this DZ, so you know what it's like to jump and land in an airspace that actually has real skydivers in it. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! bbarnhouse 0 #13 August 28, 2002 And just what kind of "experience" is required to jump from a turbine aircraft?
max 0 #14 August 28, 2002 well considering the other 2 DZ's run cessnas the turbine A/C will hopefully draw the "experinced" or licensed jumpers. If that answers your question.
quade 3 #15 August 28, 2002 QuoteWell whoever owns the damn thing I hope they put the other DZ in vegas out of business... Not that it would actually be possible. PhillyKev 0 #16 August 28, 2002 Quote Not that it would actually be possible. I don't know. If they market it as suggested above...."You won't find experienced skydivers jumping at . Only here do we offer the kind of facilities where those with knowledge of the sport come to jump." All true statements....more true than "only skydiving school to use AAD's on all jumps"
bbarnhouse 0 #17 August 28, 2002 Quotewell considering the other 2 DZ's run cessnas the turbine A/C will hopefully draw the "experinced" or licensed jumpers. If that answers your question. Any "experienced jumper" worth their salt will jump from any aircraft that is air worthy regardless.....give me a break. With an attitude like that, they will drive the extra miles to jump at a place that doesnt set themselves up as snobs. Just my own .
PhillyKev 0 #18 August 28, 2002 yowza....don't think he was saying experienced jumpers won't jump cessna's. But one of the cessna only drop zones won't let experienced jumpers jump there unless they went through aff there.

Just my own .02 If I went to Vegas and all there is available is one Cessna within a 3 hour drive, I wouldn't take my rig with me; probably would have more fun at the roulette wheel and craps table than waiting to get to altitude. Course, it could save you some money... not blowing it at the casino so fast, and loads take so long at a 1-2 prop DZ I wouldn't be hosing so much money there, either. It's nice though that someone is willing to take advantage of the ban on experienced jumpers at and wants to try to build a business from that. We need more good DZs in the Southwest since there are so few and the distance between DZs is great. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle. max 0 #21 August 28, 2002 sorry betsy, Im not trying to sound like a snob, but just like phillykev says, we want the jumpers around Vegas who arent allowed to jump the other DZ because maybe they didnt learn there.

I'm "perfectly fine" now... you can't tell I seriously biffed anymore. Man I sure did look like hamburger meat when I got out of the hospital. That biplane KICKED SO MUCH ASS! Never got the photos from it, though... I guess they are lost . My friend Lance (also camera dude) didn't get his either. -C ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.
