quatorze 1 #1 December 25, 2002 A conversation that I am in the middle of here at work, has brought this question to mind, "Has anyone ever heard of a skydiver in freefall vs bird incident? In theory, it could happen but I have never heard of anything, has anyone ever heard of this? It makes me wonder. Genn 0 #2 December 25, 2002 I remember a indident where somebody hit a goose (I think that was what it was). It was fatal. I don't recall the details though. Maybe someone else does. I think it happened in S. America. Not sure though. BSBD,

RevJim 0 #9 December 25, 2002 QuoteWasn´t this a fake?? Look at the angle the bird went in(??)......????? Sorry for my english.... That's kinda what I was thinking. 100 plus mph impact and the bird made it half way through, feathers intact, with no blood, and all the guy got was a black eye? quatorze 1 #12 December 26, 2002 No not really, just the conversation that co-worker and I were having about aircraft vs bird evolved into skydiver vs bird, then the buzzard idea came about I'm not afriad of dying, I'm afraid of never really living- Erin Engle

PhreeZone 15 #14 December 26, 2002 At 60 mph in your car a bird strike results in blood and feathers going every where if its bounced off or it hits solid and goes SPLAT on the grill of your car. The angle of the bird mean it would to have been flying straight upwhile the guy was looking down to hit it like that in freefall. Under canopy possibly, but it still would have made a mess. That polylaminate face shield would have broken the skull open before the bird would hgave broken it. If it was hit in freefall you are talking at the lowest probally 2000 feet, only very few birds fly that high and most those are the ones that use the thermals for soaring on their migrations. I am almost certian this is a fake.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Shit, none of us were worried about moving that car, we were to busy drinking beer, and watching the three trucks and tractor debacle. Hell, El Freako walked over and said "Do any of you want to help move this car?" We said no, none of us "wanted" to help, if he had asked us to help we would have but he asked if we wanted to.
