Skydiving State Motto's!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I have an interesting Idea for A post here - I want everyone to post their Home State (or Country, Providence, Et Cetera....) and your States Skydiving Motto.....

For Example:

Kansas - "HOME OF THE SINGLE CESSNA DZ!!"

or "WHERE YOU CAN SEE ALL THE DZ'S IN THE STATE FROM THE PLANE!"

I hope to get some good answers here.....

OMG -- BLATANT thread-hijack here. How did this degenerate into a talk about football in Nebraska?!

Back on track: "Southern California" is not a state, bucko. There are parts of CA you wouldn't be jumping in during January, aren't there?

You're welcome. I did that in part because nothing bores me as badly as discussions about football.

50 states, huh? Are there dropzones in Alaska?? That'd be awesome. And are there any in Hawaii? Who here jumps/has jumped in HI? I'd love to do that!

List of actual state mottos

My changes in BOLD. I only spent a couple of seconds on the really easy ones.

Alabama: Guns and skydiving. What more could you want?
Alaska: We're manifesting for the sunset load -- in 6 months.
Arizona: Dytter Deus (Latin, "God, what's that beeping?")
Arkansas: Regnat Icarus (Latin/Greek, "These canopies rule")
California: Eustinka! (Greek, "Was that you?")
Colorado: Nil sine aviat (Latin, "Nothing without wings")
Connecticut: Qui transtulit sustinet (Latin, "He who transplanted, sustains")
Delaware: Liberty and independence
Florida: In PD we trust
Georgia: Wisdom, justice, and moderation
Hawaii: U anna moku tandem?
Idaho: Esto perpetua (Latin, "Let it be perpetual")
Illinois: State sovereignty, national union
Iowa: Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain
Indiana: The crossroads of America
Kansas: Ad astra per aspera (Latin, "To the stars by hard ways")
Kentucky: United we fall, divided we funnel
Louisiana: Union, justice, and confidence
Maine: Dirigo (Latin, "I direct")
Maryland: Fatti maschi, parole femmine (Italian, "Manly deeds, womanly words" or "Deeds are male, words are female")
Massachusetts: Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem (Latin, "By the sword she seeks peace under liberty")
Michigan: Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam, circumspice (Latin, "If you seek a beautiful peninsula, look around you")
Minnesota: L'étoile du Nord (French, "The north star")
Mississippi: Virtute et armis (Latin, "By virtue and arms")
Missouri: Salus populi suprema lex esto (Latin, "Let the good of the people be the supreme law")
Montana: Oro y plata (Spanish, "Gold and silver")
Nebraska: Equality before the law
Nevada: All for our single drop zone owned by one guy
New Hampshire: Skydive or die
New Jersey: Liberty and prosperity
New Mexico: Crescit eundo (Latin, "It grows as it goes")
New York: Excelsior (Latin, "Higher")
North Carolina: Esse quam videri (Latin, "To be rather than to seem")
North Dakota: Liberty and union, now and forever, one and inseparable
Ohio: With Spectres, all things are possible
Oklahoma: Labor vincit omnia (Latin, "Work conquers all")
Oregon: Alis volat propiis (Latin, "She flies with her own wings") Actually this IS the REAL state motto!
Pennsylvania: Virtue, liberty, and independence
Puerto Rico: Johannes est nomen eius (Latin, "John is his name") WTF?[/B]
Rhode Island: Hope you don't die
South Carolina: Dum spiro, volans (Latin, "While I breathe, I fly")
South Dakota: Under God the people rule
Tennessee: Agriculture and commerce
Texas: Friendship
Utah: PIA
Vermont: Freedom and unity
