Tinkerbelle 5 #1 February 22, 2004 With all the hello kissing on the DZ, isn't anyone afraid of catching herpes symplex cold sores? You know you can catch that quite easily even if the infected person does not have visible sores at the time, especially if your lips are cracked from the wind and the sun. JDBoston 0 #4 February 22, 2004 I think what, something like 80% of the adult population carries the virus? I would imagine it's even MORE prevalent at DZs given the, er, demographics. Just plan on having it. I would be more worried about catching a cold. Joe
Tinkerbelle 5 #5 February 22, 2004 But colds go away in a week or two, cold sores scar you for life and would make me afraid to kiss people and go out in public if I ever got one. Sorry, just one of my pet peives, and was wondering how others felt. I used to kiss people hello, but one too many times I did and later saw remanance of sores only to have the person tell me, well Hell, it's almost gone! Now a days I always turn my cheek and insist my SO do as well!
 bch7773 0 #6 February 22, 2004 I think that so many have cold sores that its pointless to try to stop em. besides, its not particularly life-threatening or even annoying. well, ok they get annoying if they are on the inside of your cheek and you accidently keep biting them.
