loudtom 5 #1 April 27, 2005 Hey John, WE were having a discussion about the way a toilet bowl flushes. No need to tell you it was a weather day. Anyway, they were telling me that toilets in the southern hem. flush opposite ours. And that at the equator they flow straight down. And I said then at the poles they must shoot straight up, right. I am sure you will give us the straight poop, as it were. Feel free to publish this so all can learn and be edified. Thanks, Tom, the mouthtom #90 #54 #08 and now #5 with a Bronze :-)

Minor variations in the design, shape of the toilet bowl have an effect on the direction as well... Edited to add: you can probably also drive it in a particular direction by how the ummm... fluids are added to the bowl... ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... wildblue 4 #6 April 27, 2005 Coriolis force doesn't really affect the way a toilet flushes... so no, they don't drain the other direction.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
