Have you ever ridden an elephant?

Finding a cow to milk was a challenge, but I imagine finding an elephant to ride is going to be a little more difficult.

Anyone have any experience with elephants?

Got any suggestions about where to go to do it on the east coast?

Over 20 years ago I rode an elephant at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL.

Me too! So if you are on the East Cost - there's your answer.

So, I guess like milking a cow or finding a sheep by a cliff - you just gotta know where to look...
Because life is an adventure - it may not be the one you planned, but then it wouldn't be an adventure!

I honestly can't remember if they still had elephants when I went this year

They have Red and her baby, which hes about 3 years old now. His dads a wild born elephant.

Ive riden a elephant at a fair when I was a kid, I cried and screamed and they had to stop to take me off cause I was freaking the other kids in line out

If you can't find an elephant for me to ride, you can substitute a Llama. :)

Yes, but it was in Thailand ... a bit of a hike from the east coast. It was fun. :)

Yes in Sri Lanka I rode one down to the river an gave it a bath as well
The Mahoot (owner) didn't let me out of his sight .

I also bottle feed two month old orphanes, they are so cute, when the bottle's empty they start pushing you for more
I'm 6ft, 190lbs an I couldn't hold it back

I rode one with my dad when I was maybe 4 years old. I think the circus may have been in town or something.

How about a camel? Anybody ride one of those before?? I did in college... :D They stink more...:S

actually, I have! Back in Philly when the circus came to town-- they would have elephant rides before the circus. I was really little and hardly remember it. I don't know how often they do it now since elephants have gone nuts and hurt/killed the riders. It was cool though. :)
Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

My son and I got ride one after the Shrine Circus was over. I heard you could ride them before it started too. You just went around the ring. not like a safari. I never saw that at Ringling Brothers when they were in town. This was in the Detroit area so check to see when the next circus is coming to town.
