Brad Delp found dead

Recommended Posts

The lead singer of Boston was found dead at age 55. Not only did the guy have a great voice on some great songs (and what I conisder the finest album of the 70's), it says the guy was something special when he could get away with being on friendly terms with all of the other members of the band while they busy suing each other.

Rest in peace...

I've had Smokin' going on in my head since I heard about him. Some songs you just don't mind getting stuck on. :D[:/]
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

When I was in high school, you could cruise from one end of town to the other on Saturday night and almost every car would be playing that album. I wore out 3 8-track tapes myself. :)
For those of you too young to know, sometimes the tracks would change right in the middle of a song. I can still remember that annoying "click-click" right in the middle of the synthesizer solo of "Smokin'".

Sad news. I was in the airport on the way home yesterday when I heard the news at a distance on CNN. His voice was incredible - the great harmonies on Boston albums were because of his talent.

There is a very fitting tribute on Boston's official website. They took down the entire home page and put this up:

That sucks. I'm honored to have seen the band play. They were cutting edge in music back in the 70's and have a sound that is definately unique.
