I broke my treadmill :(

Recommended Posts

It just stopped, right in the middle of my workout. I almost did a nose dive into the electronics panel!

Has anyone had this happen before and know if it's fixable or not, or should I just send it to the curb? :(

It's always worth it to have someone look at it. It may be a simple fix. If it looks like you toasted the motor I've got an old small block 400 in the barn that I've been building that should do you fine....trust me;)

See if you popped a fuse - depending on what kind it is, it could be a $2.00 repair.

If not, could be time for a new one... That's what credit cards are for!

Of course, there could always be... you know... running OUTSIDE. I'm just sayin...

Ugh, this is Florida...it's too humid! Besides, this way I can watch the news at the same time. I like to multi-task. ;)

Oh, Phooey.

SOs are supposed to be good with tools. Put it on his "Honey-do" list.

Well...I better not comment on that.

No, no stairs here.

You get a better work out running outside than you do running on a treadmill.

Even when it's on an incline? Got any proof of that?

Yes even when it is on an incline!!! You use a significant less percentage of your leg muscles when on a treadmill. Putting it on an incline will help, but in my opinion you are better off outside. Actually you don't have to be outside, just off of a moving belt.

And some of my early morning workouts burn just as much calories as some of my other work outs. you're doing it wrong:|:P

Ok, well, I'm not going outside because Florida sucks. I'll live with less effective workout.

Maybe it's not me who's doing it wrong. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. If running takes place on a treadmill than skydiving takes place in the plane.:P

Andrea,
That rat wheel doesn't give you the same workout you would get if you ran for the same time/distance in the real world. And surely, you'd get less people walking/driving into shit as they check you out. IT's like you took all the fun out of running
