Maybe there is a third forum HH need to partner with, slackline forums?

Heh. He already did - there's a slackline forum on rockclimbing.com. And from what I can tell, one of the moderators on that forum is one of the guys who put up our line. He's simply amazing on it...

Nice. I think rockclimbing.com is gonna have to tolerate another Acme post...I need one of these things in the backyard for my boys. They can't speak, but my GOD do they have unbelievable balance!! :o:o

You're not so bad there yourself, Lisa!!

Ok, OK...you guys talked me into it...what kind of line to buy?

I guess I should:
1. get out my old jock strap and cup
2. double-check insurance riders
3. practice PLFs
4. sign up for a FSLC
5. make sure my instructors are properly rated
6. learn how to do gear checks
7. start asking myself, "Now what in the world made you do such a stupid thing in the first place? You knew what was going to happen before it happened!"

:D:D

My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

Here's a quick and dirty kit - $40 plus shipping. Uses a ratchet for tightening and requires no knots so it's easy to set up alone.

Another option is to get webbing for the line (1" tubular nylon) and anchors (1" or 5/8" tubular nylon) and a couple of carabiners at REI (or other climbing supply place) and a 1" ratchet at a hardware store. Use the biners to attach the line to the anchor at one end and to the ratchet at the other.

There is a way to set up a line using multiple carabiners in a 4:1 or similar system but that requires tying knots and an extra body or two for tightening.
