Can the LED display be repaired?

Last night it started just showing partial numbers and I can't read it.

Poop.

So you're saying it reads..."POOP" now?

OK, seriously:

Go googling for the make/model name/numbers.
You may pull up links to mfgr service information.

If that doesn't work, then just try looking at the mfgr website for any service info at all, on the product line.

If you still haven't found anything, then try a local appliance repair shop.

Yes they can fixed... if you don't have electrical experience I recommend you take it to a professional.

More than likely it is a simple LCD plugged into the control board by a ribbon cable... if this is the case then anyone with basic micro electronics skills could replace it with the right part. (Which should also be cheap if it is available)

This was merely a quick question so I don't waste my time on looking into it. Buying a new one would probably be easier.

I'm horrible about fixing things... usually end up costing more the first time around... but then I've learned something new and can do it better the next time.

I can't tell you how many times I've taken something apart to fix one thing and ended up breaking something else inside it.

Latest was my Ipod... broken LCD $20, broken clip on main board while replacing the LCD $65

My microwave's LED hasn't worked for 5+ years now. Press the clear button a few times, select the options & time required & press start.

It's quite simple if you trust yourself to push the right buttons B|

A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
