banesanura 1 #1 May 23, 2009 I noticed that my website was down so I go and try to log in to see WTF was the issue and send in a ticket. This is what I got. Official announcement. On May 21 approx 20:30, one of our servers hosting accounts starting with "u72.." was repossessed by the FBI in cooperation with our datacenter provider Sagonet.com for investigating illegal files hosted by some of our customers. Since we are not allowed to get the servers back or any of the backups, we are currently setting up a new server for our clients. Each customer having account starting with u72 will be personally notifyed once the new server has been set up so they can log in to re-upload their website files. We apologize for any inconvenice this may cause. Worst part- all the files that need to be uploaded for my website are in the SO's files, in the barracks, locked and unattainable for a few months. I'm shit out of luck. I emailed them to see if they saved ANY file.Best Girl Scout Ever.
theonlyski 3 #2 May 23, 2009 Damn, someone musta had some child porn or terrorist plans or something on there. It takes ALOT for the FBI to come get your servers. Gawain 0 #3 May 23, 2009 That really sucks. Once you rebuild everything, use a third party storage like Carbonite for back up, etc.. It will be better for your business, and easier to maintain as you grow your clientele, and maybe move your business around. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Hopefully you have at least learned that having data backups to which you have no access is fundamentally no different from having no backup at all. LisaH 0 #5 May 23, 2009 Are you sure this is a real report? Several typos, bad grammar, bad punctuation and lack of words. Reminds me of those junk emails from other countries asking you to filter their money. "Each customer having account" Where is the word an ? datacenter - should be two words notifyed ? inconvenice ? You should look into this.Be yourself! MooOOooOoo

banesanura 1 #7 May 23, 2009 I thought that too, but the notice was on the hosting website when I tried logging in. I don't have my email address tied into my account, Its my SO's so I just have to wait until he comes back so I can upload some data, or I'll just throw a splash page up until he gets out.Best Girl Scout Ever. theonlyski 3 #8 May 23, 2009 That doesnt mean that the guy running the hosting site knows much english. My buddy runs hosting sites all over the country, Im sure he could go international at any point. You dont have to know the language, the only thing you need is the greenbacks."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
