Brains 2 #1 October 13, 2009 I am looking for my next snowboarding destination. I have been to copper mountain, park city, and wolf creek. I would like to go someplace that i have not been before but it needs to be somewhere that Southwest airlines fly's to. Tell me where and why Oh yeah, I am a cheap ass and will be looking for lodging deals in the area too so Tahoe is out! Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. A lot of the resorts have deals with the casinos and hotels in Reno. Or you can stay in Reno and drive to any resort you want in Tahoe not far drives. You create life, life does not create you. I grew up skiing / boarding at Powder Mtn. Cool ass mtn with so many different trail options. Plus it's not all that known so it's not as crowded as the resorts in the Park City/SLC area. d_squared431 0 #9 October 13, 2009 Tahoe is not expensive to stay if you hook up with the right people. Let me see if my friends mom has her cabin open. She rents out the small cabin for to travelers on and off yr round. The view is breath taking but there is one problem, the driveway. It is very steep! I am a great snow driver and I would never drive down it in the winter time. I was even nervous about it in the summer months. Her cabin is in North shore and it is a 20-30 minute drive to squaw, northstar, alpine, Mt Rose and 10 -15 minutes to Diamond weak I mean peak... Basin has nicer facilities but Powder is like a hidden gem of Utah. Lived there for 3 years and had a season pass to Powder every year. Huge amounts of off trail boarding at Powder too."Damn you Gravity, you win again"

(atleast they were a few years ago, might have changed, they were putting in new lift to hidden lake lodge) They were still talking about building a lift to Lightning Ridge too... used to get off work at 4 and be on the mountain by 5 doing night runs till 10. You could go for an hour down the outer runs and not see another person, and I never once waited more than a minute in line for a lift... ever. Edit to add: in case you were wondering Powder is ~5500 acres (about 1500 is only accessible by cat though [unless they built that lift to lightning ridge])"Damn you Gravity, you win again"
