Because we all know this is the place to go for medical advise...

;)

So, I fell down the stairs this morning, felt the knee twinge, no throbbing or shooting pain, but upon trying to stand it completely gave under me.

I can walk (mostly) without any discomfort, however if I try to stand / sit / step up or down - knee gives, and there is pain. The pain subsides quickly though.

Anyone ever experience this... :S

I know nothing about this but let's bump it up and see if you get a reply that's worth something. You could always PM on of the good docs on here. I'd name name's, but I don't want to piss 'em off. :P I'll let you pick one.

Also, with all the gimpy jumpers on here, someone must have done already what you did today.

If nothing else, percosets until it feels better. :)

lol Thanks John!

Well my favorite Dr. and nurse are in Belize right now... :P not that I'm jealous or anything. Ok, YES I am!!!

That aside, who the heck has percosets at the drop of a hat... :P not that I'm jealous or anything. Ok YES I am!

CRAP, now I've got a bad knee, I'm bummed that I'm not in Belize and I don't have a ready supply of percosets... :| (now I miss SFB)

WOW, how in the heck did things turn so quickly? ;)

BUMP

Nope, never that in particular. But I've found that just about anything, if I can walk through it, I can wait until the doctor gets back from Belize.

Use your other leg to power the getting up and getting down, and just let that one assist.

If it starts to get better, you're going to live. If it doesn't, you can probably wait until they're back from Belize.

See -- wasn't htat easy???:)

I hope it feels better soon regardless. I have no percocet.

I watch House all the time -

so I'd say that it's likely the maniscus and it will heal on it's own.

Do not burden the system with your pathetic minor injuries.

you know I luv ya:)

Some years back, I jammed my thumb really bad.
Never went to the Dr for it.
The joint has never looked or worked, quite the same.

I just recently learned that in fact I tore the ligaments, and had I gone to the Dr within 3 weeks, they could have been repaired.
But now it is going to require reconstructive surgery, using transplanted tendons from my other arm.

Your mileage may vary.

I stayed at a holiday inn express last night, and I concur.

However, it might be Lupus..

Your favorite Doc and nurse have FB access while they are down there. Hit them up.

I did a similar thing during a VERY drunken night which involved riding a bull.....turns out I hyper extended it. Took about a month before it felt right again.

Tore an ACL once... no real pain at first just a quick sharp twinge, then it got a little sore as the day wore on, then hurt like a mofo in the middle of the night. I was hunting anything and everything stronger than a tylenol, and ice didn't seem to help much. Copious amounts of alcohol didn't help much either, but at that point I didn't care too much...

From what your describing, it prolly aint' that. :P

Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...

Meniscus tears don't make the knee give away, unless you are a wussie.

Sure they hurt for a while,(if you still have any)

But ligament tears do exactly what she is talking about.
