And this package thief walked off into instant karma... and still made it off with the packages thanks to her man.

Package thief who took bad fall in Bothell identified
http://www.king5.com/article/news/crime/package-thief-who-took-bad-fall-in-bothell-identified/281-512145265

The homeowner is frustrated by the loss and says one box contained a special medication. Insurance pays for some of it, but it doesn't cover replacements.

The homeowner says it’s worth more than $5,000 and he doesn't feel any sympathy for the woman who fell.

We need random packages that contain spring loaded shit.
Or maybe just C4.

Now the ball is in the judges court. Does he show that this is a serious problem that needs to stop, or just give a suspended fine and a lecture.

How about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHI3vqNo7sk

Would love to have a paintball gun or two (from opposite sides) rigged to shoot when a package is lifted.

Other than that, to be 100% theft proof, best bet is some kind of receptacle large enough to drop deliveries in that can't be retrieved without a key, similar to the USPS blue mail drop boxes.

For the first 10 years I lived at my current location, I rented a box at The UPS Store just a mile away. It was great! Any service could deliver there. There was always an adult to sign if necessary. And the package was never unattended.

Then the store changed owners, and the new owner tripled the rates.>:(
That was the end of that.

I've considered making a box, bolted to the porch, designed to accept packages, but would need a key to access.

Where i live nobody ever messes with it. I have everything dropped off on the porch. And, where I live just about everyone has guns and would love an excuse to use them. Coincidence?

What not to do when you were the victim of a hit & run.
You got the perp's car & tag on the dashcam;
There is really no need to provide the cops with video proof you broke a bunch of traffic laws chasing the perp.:S

Something like this, Boxlock?

That is awesome. Looks like its compatible with Amazon, UPS, Fed Ex, and USPS. Fortunately, my driveway is long enough that the house sits far back from the street to make it more of a hassle for thieves to take a chance. But it would still be an added measure of comfort knowing my shit would be safe, as long as the delivery drivers know what to do.

Only thing the website doesn't show is the weight of each lockbox. I'd like it to be heavy enough that two people would struggle to pick it up, but I would like the option to bolt it down into the porch concrete surface too.

When we lived in town the UPS carriers used to be our own worst enemy. In the "you can't make this up" category one would put the package, boxes a foot square and bigger, on the porch then lay the welcome mat on top of it. If nobody noticed the package otherwise they would now. There was this cardboard box with a mat on top of it, which even said "Welcome."
But the one that really bothered me would leave a note saying he'd left the package with the people down the street because they were home. Of course they were home. It's not like they had jobs to go to and they'd been out all night looking for windows to climb through to augment their welfare checks. When we moved, and if I brought packages home, I never used computer or tv boxes, only the ones that had had government cheese and disposable diapers in them so nobody would know all the stuff I had but now my latest expensive piece of electronics was just handed to this bunch. They'd give it to me of course, but knew where I lived.
I really love having moved out of town.

As we reported at the time, police documents did not indicate whether Miller was given the Mustang GT500 middle name at birth or whether it was an aftermarket addition.

On the other hand, something that is no surprise at all
"and having no proof of liability insurance."
