  1. I never tried it since 90% of my jumps now are camera, but it doesnt appear that there would be any snag factor involved. try it on the ground and see what you think.
  2. I currently jump a racer, and had the same question for Jump shack. The official "fix" (straight from them) for those concerned about two sided risers was to attatch both clips to the left side.
  3. OMFG!!!!! that site is hilarious... I ended up with... You know what they say about a nun with healthy armpits. I'm drunk but, but that's a nice cornhole- you selling timeshares? I actually might use the first one... its funny enough to probably work.
  4. or if you are from Kentucky... "Hey, arent we related?"
  5. what part of "ALL equipment" did you miss :) and donning, isnt that the one before blizen? sorry, in a punchy mood :) I think its ground poisoning.

    DOOR!

dont count on it... I'm not gonna get started on WFFC's BS about last year's jet..
  7. Dont worry dude, I'll step in, take your place and save you...
  8. wow... is there an echo in here? LOL
  9. Speaking from experience, my answer is generally "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I used to do it, but after one particular jump, I vowed to never do it again (at least not as aggressively). I was playing away having a blast.... tight turn left, REVERSE!!!! and back the other way very quickly. This went great until the 3rd reversal that was even snappier than the first two. I go to make the sudden turn back the other way, and the centrifugal forces made me want to twist the opposite direction. (coninuing my rotation to the right as my canopy started turning to the left. Thanks Mr. Newton). Next thing I know I was in a nasty line twist after my body rotated in the direction it was going before the turn reversed. Thank god I dont fly a high performance elliptical... otherwise it could have been nasty (line twist with one toggle halfway down).
  10. yeah me either... i'll trade ya some of your stuff that you havent heard about for some of the stuff that I havent heard about.... LOL
  11. Well, I agree, have the instructors do alot of one on one work with her. If possible, find a DZ that uses the new Parasim simulators for canopy training. She may only need a little more TLC and hands on work. But, on the other hand, if that doest work I have seen several students that should just stick to bowling.... skydiving just isnt compatible with them.
  12. no, it is always abusive... I used to go there, then totally gave up. When you have a small group that is there specifically to cause problems and be smartasses, its never fun(unless you are one of the above smartasses).
  13. could be worse... I was soooo sore from shooting several of those tandem vids (Still a little sore). I just wish our editor could have kept up with the workload. But damn it, we got all 14 done at least.
  14. orange... wow... guess it helps to pay attention sometimes... LOL
  15. any way to make the new messages within a thread be noted, or a way to hide the read messages? kindof annoying to try to figure out where you left off in the thread, sometimes having to go 4 and 5 pages in to see the new ones.
  16. i think the graphic will most likely look something like this... http://www.mrtubesteak.com
  17. I remember that well at the boogie last year... Good to see you here Jason... Roy
  18. interesting theory, but doesnt always work. unless you can comfortably rest your chin on your chest with no stress on the back of your neck (without opening your mouth), it doesnt work. My chiropractor actually recommended re-arching with your head back. any opening forces will be distributed straight down the spine where it is more apt to handle the stress. Personally I tuck my chin when I pitch, but as soon as I feel line stretch, I re-arch. this keeps the gear out of the way until the lines are clear.
  19. At the Winter Expo at Skydive Chicago this past march, I listened in on a seminar where they were discussing things such as public perceptions of our sport, student training, etc. One of the things they mentioned was not having fun "scaring" the tandem passengers with comments like "(smiling big while looking at the rig) I think it will work." or an exchange like random jumper:" Hey Bob, did you remember to take your medicine?" TM Bob:"I forgot it yesterday, but I took two today". In my experience all the passengers laugh (or at least smile)and seem to relax more. As a JM, I know that it seems to relax my students a bit more when I joke around with them. What is your opinion on this practice? should we joke around to get them to relax, or should we be ultra starched shirt professionals and always keep a straight face (and pray they dont puke out of sheer anxiety)?
  20. dont count on it. at least not till this economy turns around. the tech sector sucks a** right now. I should know... now making 1/2 what I made a year ago due to job cuts, etc. (wont bore with the details)
  21. how about seeing what you think is a freebag in a field under canopy, but not landing by it cuz its too long of a walk. So I jumped in the car and drove over to where it was. as I walk up on it, I find its really two white plastic fertilzer bags. just as I realize what it is, I trip over a spring loaded pop top from last year. It was faded, covered in mud and useless, but at least I can say I found something.
  22. actually, I call her, she isnt home. she calls, pretty much to say got your message, im busy/tired i'll call you later, then never does. *shrug* oh well. guess its time for plan b.... CUTAWAYYYYYY!!!
  23. Hey Sangrio, ever thought of a chat server? (registered users only of course to cut down on party crashers and trolls) And is it possible to flip the "check spelling button" and "continue/clear" buttons? I hardly spel chek (lol) and prefer to just send the message. besides, I keep hitting spell check instead of continue all the time cuz I gotta scroll down to see the rest.
  24. Richmond hands down... best instructors, friendliest people (no "skygods" there that I know of),and now one of the ONLY sport parasims in the country used for student training. For those of you that dont know, the Parasim is a Virtual Reality canopy training simulator. Too cool. Ok, ok, so I might be a little biased since its my home DZ, but I drive past other DZ's to get there... does that say anything for it?
  25. I know what you mean... I am getting pretty damn tired of chicks screwing with my head and emotions... Not even cooled down enough to talk about it yet. Just for the sake of argument, doesnt a chick shoving her tongue down your throat, and hand in your pants generally mean "i might be pretty interested in you" ? (I know that isnt always the case for guys, as they would probably be horny only) Now I sit a week later and cant get a call back... *sigh* Wish my DZ had more women...
