  1. To every woman whose day won’t be filled with roses, chocolates, and giant stuffed animals; to every woman for whom nobody has prepared a home cooked meal or made a dinner reservation at her favorite restaurant; and to every woman who won’t be staring across a glass of champagne into the eyes of someone special: Know that you deserve those sentimental niceties every bit as much as every woman who’ll be receiving them, and one day you’ll find the person who’s waiting out there to give you them to you. Happy Valentine’s Day.
  2. I lurk a lot of the forums on dropzone.com and it never fails to amaze me how bad 75% of the personal advice on these boards is. Alot of it falls into the categories of humanistic existential drivel and alot of it is just based on really broad assumptions. I'm not speaking specifically of this post because i've seen it much worse in other posts, but its definitely reared its ugly head here. There's a difference between not looking back and not dwelling on the past. If we never look at the past we can't learn from it, and if we can't learn from it we are doomed to repeat it. Maybe he tried to put a ring on her finger and that's why she broke up with him, so don't jump to conclusions. A psychiatric professional would have a field day with some of these personal advice threads.
  3. let me know how that works out for you. i'd like like to find an alternative that involves a little less blood. i'm tired of the step children looking like they fell in the garbage disposal.
  4. I used to feel bad because I had no shoes. Then I met a man who had no feet. I said to him, "Perhaps you have a pair of shoes you do not need?"
  5. been there...done that...got the t-shirt
  6. It depends on the year. The first year I was skydiving I bought a new rig and spent probably 10% of my income on that rig alone. Overall I probably spent about 20% of my income on jumping that year. This year its probably been more like 2 or 3%.
  7. I'm going to be attending a familiy reunion in Miami next week and am thinking about taking my rig and trying to make a few jumps. Any suggestions where to jump in southern Florida?
  8. And its a go! Got the confirmation call today. YeeHaw! ltdiver That's just a go for ferrying jumpers to WFFC, right? It's not actually going to be flying any loads, is it?
  9. All I'm going to say is that there was a boat involved in getting me back to the DZ. And it wasn't a small boat.
