  2. Very good decision! Well done. Hope you heal well!
  3. Hi There! DISCLAIMER: I know next to nothing.. always consult with an instructor who knows you and has seen you land! Try to loan or demo a larger chute of a somewhat more docile nature (try a Sabre / Sabre-clone ). If that works better for you, well... The Pilot is, imho, not a beginners chute, and a wingload of 1.35 is a bit high for a beginner. Especially high for a beginner who has troubles landing properly. Have fun & be safe!
  4. practice makes perfect. (or at least better ) Either that or pay a packer. From the sounds of it a packer is probably more proficient at packing than you are..
  5. Hey Jarno ! NOICE looking rig! Where did you buy it? Got a decent chute to put in there as well?
  6. Im pretty sure its 1000' that it arms itself at at 750' that it fires. Read the usermanual at http://www.cypres-usa.com/english_users.pdf . It states: A Student or Expert CYPRES will not work if the aircraft is exited before it reaches 1500 feet (450m) above the height at which the jumper intends to land. In case of a Tandem CYPRES 3000 feet (900m) has to be reached. Once the aircraft has climbed through that altitude and CYPRES has become fully operational it will work for any exit height.

    Ad adware 6

I've been using AdAware for some weeks now.. no problems. Before it removes spyware and or other programs, you can select/deselect items, so no worrying about accidentally removing your messenger.

    Cat killin'

that is just SO wrong! ... evil.. but good!
  10. Have to agree with DiabloPilot here: Paratec FreeZR is made in stupendous large sizes . I usually need an XL, so I tried the FreeZR XL and it was far too large and they have a size XXL as well. Mainly made for ROUND heads by the way.
  11. Since all your gear is German-made, why don't you try a German dealer as well? Will most probably be much cheaper.
  12. Were there any red stains on the box? In that case, I'd assume it wasn't a lame excuse!
  13. Merely guessing here... but I figure he didn't start appearing in pornflicks because of his friendly/handsome face..
  14. in what way would you say this forum is not a typical cross section of US society, concerning the gun-debate? .. just to be on the safe side: I'll stick to my previous stated mental note
  15. I never stated I have an expert opinion about the US.. and never showed any hatred towards the US.. I think there are a number of good things to be said about the US.. but IMO the whole gun-thing is not one of them.. Mental note.. never say anything about guns and Americans.. nothing but trouble comes from it.
  16. FACT is that the pro-gun side has PROOF that guns don't attract violence... and the other side has PROOF that guns do attract violence.. the latter makes much more sense IMO. You'd be amazed.. I know that sometimes the only way to change things is to fight.. and since the other side doesn't use sticks and stones anymore, we shouldn't be using sticks and stones to defend ourselves.. There is a difference between war and peace.. and fortunately when guns are needed to defend a country, guns are regularly used by individuals who are trained properly to use a gun. How come every time anyone offers a personal opinion on guns, the pro-gun side get aggressive/defensive.. could be because of the gun they carry?
  17. Well, you're close. But it's not because lots of them are allowed to carry guns. It's because a lot of people DO carry guns, even though they are not allowed to. You said earlier you were suprised that some Americans weren't allowed to carry. It's probably less than 1% (just a guesstimate) of the people carrying guns that are doing so legally, the rest are criminals. Let me try to refrase what I said.. maybe it's better to say that because there are so many people carrying guns, it is becoming less and less safe. That fact that a lot of people carry guns is mostly because they want to be able to defend themselves? Or want to feel safe? IMO that's a bit of reversed logic.. Thanks for the short debate though,, I'm off.. got to get up in a few hours..
  18. Bzzzt! Wrong answer. Cars are not a constitutional right. Guns are. Whatever. I am IMO very glad guns are not a constitutional right here.. and you've made it very clear you don't agree.. that's your good right. As it is mine to disagree with you.. Like I said: no big deal.
  19. I sometimes get the feeling that there are far more life-threatening situations in some parts of the USA just because a large number of Americans are allowed to carry a gun. Maybe I am just lucky to not have been in a situation where I feel like I need a gun.. maybe just smart.. or maybe even not too hot-tempered to give a f*ck and don't start a fight or arguement
  20. Didn't you sign that waiver before you were born? The one saying you accept that life is a high risk activity and you won't sue in the afterlife should some idiot kill you via car, gun, or whatever? Hmm.. must have missed that waiver.. Small difference with getting killed by a car and getting killed by a gun is that guns are generally speaking of very little useful value, and can therefore be restricted in availability better than cars.. And... I'd rather not be killed at all.. Just trying to minimize my chances..
  21. Sometimes it is best to just walk/drive away.. and not to make a big fuss about something like a parking space.. But yes, clubs can be as deadly as a gun.. just on shorter range
  22. It takes me 20 minutes to find somewhere to park sometimes. Sometimes longer. and you say that might be a reason to start using your gun? I'd assume you don't mean it like that.. Thanks for the info on gun-control.. by-the-by
  23. It is shown that not everyone can be trusted with a gun I don't mind NOT carrying a gun, since it makes it less likely that people around me carry a gun.. It's is absolutely NOT a restriction of my 'freedom' .. But he.. do whatever you like.. We just don't agree.. and probably never will.. no biggie.
  24. Aaahh.. okay... I didn't know it was illegal to carry a gun for some Americans??? Honestly.. I'm not trying to start a beaten-to-death debate all over again..
