  3. I ordered a Z1, finish was bad..customer service from parasport worse. I bought a Freezr...love it, great helmet.
  4. I saw it in January. They said it's only in the smallest sizes right now, adult sizes should be available in may. Max will be 170.
  5. hmmmm......i'll go without...i do have a vigil card...cutter looks the same...that ought to do it...
  6. Ya, I know.... Anyways, I'm travelling with my gear as checked baggage next week. Can't find my xray card. The email addy's at aviacom are unresponsive. Anyone able to scan and post the xray card for me to print?
  7. I work in the aviation industry. We don't consider jet engine intakes design flaws because FOD can enter them, or props flawed in design because they can stir up gravel which will FOD them or access areas to control cables faulty because a mechanic can leave FOD in them to jam controls. We consider our practices and poor housekeeping faulty. We use double checks, tool control etc to prevent FOD, not wrap airplanes in plastic to prevent it. I'd say, if this was indeed a shot ball from a weight bag, this is poor housekeeping and poor FOD control if its possible for shot to come out of the bag. I'd say this is akin to leaving a temporary pin inside the pack job.

    Eclipse

I managed to find one of these that was your typical closet queen, but never ever jumped....Its my first container and is most excellent. It packs easy, has most modern ameneties like tuck tabs etc.... It is also very very comfy..i'd recommend these if you can find one. while the company is out of business, the current TSO owner states any vector parts can be used as direct replacement parts.
  9. I think maybe the quoted part of my post was misinterpretted. The sour grapes comment was more concerning leaving the post up and roasting the vendor over the fire after I'd gotten my refund, which I did wait six months for. I totally had sour grapes taste when I posted, originally as I had made significant efforts to resolve this privately I thought taking down the post would be the right thing to do, instead of rubbing someones nose in it. I'm not going to say too much more about this deal as I've had a very apologetic email from Joe and we did finally resolve the issue. If/when we meet up somewhere, I'm buying the first round.
  10. thanks for taking care of this joe, et al.... i did get my refund, i hope that the mods can delete my post now, so that nobody thinks its sour grapes....
  11. is it possible that the cut loop is frayed because it was flapping in the breeze for 7 seconds at 130 mph?
  12. i'm what most people describe as heavily tattoo'd... My sleeves (tattoo's, not shirts) cover a half dozen BAD tattoo's. Tattoo's that didn't turn out like they should have, that i grew out of, that were cool in the 80's but not for the 40 odd yr old man wearing them now. Anyway, choose an artist you are comfortable with, you can talk to, that you feel is genuine. Look at their shop for cleanliness, for sure. Health inspectors take trainees to my artists shop to show them how at shop should look and be cleaned. Choose an artist that specializes or loves the art you are looking for. Many up and comers will tattoo anything, but if they have a passion for it will put more soul into it. Finally, my advice, pick your piece carefully...its going to be with you a long time.
  13. i didn't notice in the accident report if they speculated on loop length but Karel did send me a document where it does state, as we know, that a long loop may affect the cutters action. On that note, i found some video tests on youtube of Argus cutter tests done last month with 0kg of loop tension.... http://www.youtube.com/user/Argus996#p/u
  14. Well, I called them again yesterday, asked to speak to Mako directly. He wasn't there, I left a message to return my call. I was asked what the call was about so explained briefly, we'll see if I get a call back.
  15. please, feel free to ask joe or tony about it, or encourage them to make this right. wish i was close enough to take a stack of $15 lifts in exchange.
  16. they go by 1800funjump.com on the web. They are also listed in the dropzone section here, with the same contact number i have.
  17. Frankly, I don't know who the DZO there is. I've been given Joe's number (don't know his last name) and he answers his phone "Joe, Skydive Hollister...or sometimes '1800FUNJUMP'"
  18. Where Divot works, that's just called Tuesday! So . . . THAT is what he meant by "My turn in the barrel" lol...one of my favorite jokes.... my cousin, who spent much of his life under the supervision of guards in a pen or jail of some sort says it ain't ass rape or homosexuality.... he calls it prison pussy....lol
  19. sadly, came from my bank account.....
  20. I hate to do this as I don’t feel comfortable with slagging someone, but I feel I have no other recourse at this time. While sharing my experience publicly won’t get my money back, it may prevent others from losing some cash, like I did. On November 4, 2009 I completed a deal with Tony Parker, who was selling used gear for Skydive Hollister (1800funjump). I purchased a black with pink PD210 for $275 including shipping. I paid with a verified paypal account. I contacted Tony numerous times via email and telephone over the next couple of months with many reassurances that he’d get the canopy out to me. Tony actually provided me with his cell number, so I really don’t believe it was his intent to rip me off. In January, I finally called him and told him to just refund my money as I’d bought other gear, which he said he’d do. Then we did that dance for a bit. He finally told me he didn’t have access to the accounts anymore and I should contact Joe at skydive Hollister, which I did. When I spoke to Joe the first time, he looked up his paypal account, confirmed I had paid for the canopy and agreed to send me a refund ‘next week’. He even called me back, long distance to inform me of this. On a second occasion he called me back to tell me he’d issue my refund right away. I’ve been emailing or phoning Joe once a week for the last month, asking for my refund, which hasn’t been issued. Last Friday, I emailed Joe and told him that if I didn’t hear from him by Monday, I’d take this public. I even offered to take gear or schwag instead of money. I phoned him again yesterday, Tuesday, and asked he call me back about this ASAP. I still haven’t heard a thing back from him. So, that’s my story. Skydive Hollister burned me for $275 US, (just over $300 cdn at the time) on a used gear deal from dropzone.com. I’ve been really patient about getting my refund, but it hasn’t transpired. This patience and faith in a fellow skydiver took me past the 45-day dispute timeframe for paypal. I don’t know what the motive is, they’re a business, not a private individual in a country known for online scams. I’m not impressed and I’m sure one day while on a winter trip south I’ll bump into one of these folks at Eloy or somewhere and we can talk about this in person over a beer…as they write me a cheque….
  21. i have a new argus in my rig. Since there hasn't been alot on this to read, I contacted Aviacom to ask what the latest outcomes are etc. Karl responded to me and stated that Aviacom is meeting with the polish government next week. He stated that the polish gov't feels that if there is a cutter error when mounted on top of the reserve pc it may interfere with the reserve deployment. Guess thats all there is right now other than the documents posted on their website.
  22. in student gear i was about 250 or so out the door...i fall at 135 to 140 in a nice relaxed arch. Just got a new jumpsuit and my own gear..should slow me down a bit.

    Argus

"if you are licensed skydiver, and you have an Argus in your rig, then you have to turn it off prior to making a jump in Poland " lol....typical government logic....almost like military intelligence... better to turn it off and make sure it doesn't work than possibly risk that 99.999999% chance that it will work when needed..... I have an argus in my rig....

    FreeZR

I purchased this after experiencing the lousy quality control and customer service so Parasport and their Z1 that comes with human hair and other paint inclusions. The FreeZR is what you expect to receive when you authorize a charge of $300 + to your CC. Great fit, quality, comfort and you get a helmet bag included....not hair in the paint!
