  1. Awesome, was debating on waiting till I finish my B, only 15 more jumps needed and the Flight 1 Canopy course and water landing. Dunno, but thanks for the info! High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  2. I am registering with USPA for my A lic. I live in Canada though, but trained in the USA. Will they send it to me in Canada? High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  3. I was there during the FLCPA and there was fun jumps, and tandems and aff still going. I heard the same for the next one. 2 planes as well. High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  4. hey guys.... Im finally getting around to getting this done. Life gets in the way sometimes. Okay, my history. I have 10 Static military jumps on the Special Forces SF-10 Round Steerable chutes. I also have about 2 hours under canopy on Paragliders. That said, for the AFF I still need body positioning etc. I feel my S.A. should be good from the Military chutes. Okay, Im coming down from Canada and was looking at SkyDive Atlanta as I can stay at the loft there. Saves a little money. I have also talked with people from STF a year or 2 back and they seem very cool too, so thats a viable option as well. What is everyone's opinion on this? Im looking to start it in the next few days, so it will be short notice, and that would mean they'd have to be able to get the instructors required (crossing my fingers) Im looking to do all 7 at once, + any redo's and maybe grab a few more to work towards the 25 needed. So, what does everyone think about these 2 choices? Am I forgetting any other choices? I realize that there are places in Mich etc, but I was hoping to head down to Florida for a few military jumps afterwards, and have friends in GA. but if you know of any other places that stand out from Detroit to Florida, please feel free to suggest them. Thanks for any insight you can spare. High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  5. APRIL FOOLS??? High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  6. Any specials for 2 first timers? I wanna come over from Canada and bring the wife. Both want the AFF 1 jump, depending on costs maybe more.... Thinking coming Tuesday wed thursday maybe. Are there gonna be "Good Times" those days / nights? Camping / motels???? Thanks! Email if you like [email protected] High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  7. Not making it this year. Couldnt get time off from the FIre Dept. So, next year it is. But Ill be at STF sometime this summer for the A Licence. Also gonna hit the Summerfest in Chicago. Had more lead up time to get that off. Have a great time guys, and post some pics! High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  8. Sweet az!! No worries- Nothing wrong with knowing the SIM front to back... it'll pay off! Anyhow, check this out: http://www.skydivethefarm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=58 Check the link out as far a details/rates. You could easily come on down for your 1-7 AFF class/jumps someone there will be able to accomedate you.... just make sure you book a time to do the class though okay so they have someone on staff to cater to you, okay? The Farm is an amazing place... and coming down for the boogie and being thrown in the mix of all of the jumping, environment, and evening events is going to be some EPIC times for you, promise! Eeeekk, never have made the drive (I do not handle well in a car for more than 2 hours ) So! My guess would be 8-10 hours from you... But!! ...Even better is to check out Airtran from DTW to ATL (bought my ticket for $199) and we can arrange somebody to pick you up/drop you back off from ATL if you'd like... I fly in Tuesday (5-2)night and fly back out late Sunday (5-17). Let me know if I can help ya further to get you down south for this EPIC Boogie, okay? Otherwise have an awesome week! Smile lots, Miss Ann Sounds sweet, If I can get time away from the Fire Dept. Ill be southbound and down! Otherwise, I will be heading down for the full 25 Jump "A" Lic, sometime in the summer. (for sure) High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  9. I think the Rounds are 32 foot parabolics. Using the risers for steering is quite a pain, Much like the Military jump courses. Add to this your shoulder load and your drop ruck on your legs. Bush crash suit etc. its fairly cumbersome. Also, I do have some videos around - so Im sure they are on the net someplace, - look online for Mann Gulch Mountain fires etc. Lots of info there. or goto www.smokejumpers.com hope this helps ya! Cheers! High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  10. Hey guys, Im new to the forums. I was wondering, if this was a magazine you spoke of. I know the one magazine that was published a while back stopped printing. I was hoping to find another. Any info? Cheers! High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  11. Cool! I just might try to make that event. Just need to get the time off to drive down and back. No, I haven't done any AFF courses yet,(I'm a Noob!) however I think I have watched every video atleast a kajillion times lol. Read the USPA manual and even been to a DZ or 2. I do have canopy time and such in paragliding and done the ground training for the military jump course for static (parabolic chutes). (Still a Noob lol) Michigan eh!?! I live in Windsor,Ontario, 5 mins from Detroit!
  12. Count me in - and those dates are PERFECT for my vacation slot ! High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
  13. Just curious guys! I'm thinking about rolling down from Ontairo, Canada. I havent jumped before, but have done some military / paragliding stuff. Still good times? Any chances of AFF jumps? Jakal1970 High Speed, Low Drag! Adrenaline Junkie
