Has anything changed recently? The terrain you are running (more hills, less hills, etc.), the frequency, number of miles, or maybe your stride? My left foot is slightly longer than my right. I don't think it is all that uncommon. I'm a runner too, but have yet to lose a toe nail. Some of my running buddies have. Its almost always due to the shoe. Make sure you have plenty of room in the toe box of your shoe. I always get fitted for my running shoes at a running store. First off, it helps if you purge before passing out. Then, if you're in a state that you can remember, drink some electrolyte (something like gatorade) after purging, but before passing out. then drink some more when you wake up. if you need something more solid first, eat some greasy potatoes (hash browns, home fries, etc.) and drink some sprite or 7-up. The credit for the greasy potatoes and 7-up goes to my sister. She went to a party school and passed that advice on to me. It really works! My theory is that the greasiness coats the stomach and the starchiness of the potatoes absorbs any toxic crap left in your stomach. I'm a runner and so always have some electrolyte around. This really helps with the dehydration. Be careful about using gatorade, it has a lot of sugar in it. I use one called Nuun. You can get it at REI or running stores. Its great because it comes in tablet form like Airborne and is easy to transport. Just plop a tablet in a bottle of water and you're good to go! I was there yesterday. I was sitting at turn 2 (hairpin) and had a perfect view of turn 5 where the two from the first race were taken out. It was a a blast.
