  1. Will they let you jump if the fog is pretty thin? I know up here we jump through think clouds at around 3500-4500, probably a little diff when your landing though. "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." Napoleon Bonaparte
  2. I don't know if you remember but I while back I was seeking advice on divers who jump in cold weather and need good grip. Well, they suggested tackified gloves to combat that. To answer your question though on why I made that jump. I had no idea it would be so cold at altitude and the guys on my load didn't even mention it on the way up. 3. My Boss at work is like that and what a great guy he is. The more I do for him, the more I get back. I show show up early, go out of my way to find fixes for th problems that we have at work. You know, Business is like politics the more people like you the more they will do for you. In a market and society where image is everything saving face is all important. If more people had you mentality and your ideals the world would be a better place. Peace
  4. It is a little early to start getting snow around this time. last year it was not until late december that we got it but the cold was here around late Oct. The year before it was around haloween when it came in like a blizzard. I made the mistake of jumping once when it was 6C on the ground. (Around your 40) Let me tell you that it is a horrible idea. Right from drop off I could feel the wind chapping my hands, by the time it came to pull (45 seconds later) my hands were so cold when I bent them to cup the pilot they cracked and bled all the way to the gound. I learned from all this that log book entries really have a lot of fond memories when you look back them from time to time. "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." 5. I'm hip to the snugglin scene, it's grest in the summer too when the breeze is a blowin and your on the beach with your queen. Ahem yeah I like it too. Checking the forcast for today we are just starting to see the first of the snow for the year. Snow the next 2 days a few CENTIMETERS at least with, I dare say it, cloudy skies to follow. drats "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." Napoleon Bonaparte
  6. Oohh. We are on a different temp scale we have gotten in the past to -30 which is actually pretty avg with wind and all. That would be somewhere around your 0 degrees F. OOhh just writing that makes me cold. If you live in Canada or plan on visiting please bring a shovel and do a canadian proud. "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." 8. I don't know if this thread has ever been made, but the snow I woke up to this morning has me thinking about how winter will be rearing it's ugly head around here in Winnipeg, Canada soon and was wondering what kind of temps all the DZ.commers can expect this winter. P.S. Florida and Texas are to be excluded from this highly scientific post for deprression will severly alter results. "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." 10. I have a normal routine that I follow that was taught to me by my really cool JM's. We go get some alti do the jump watch the video and ALL sit around and watch. (those not in the air at least) then we critique and fill in all nes. info. havn't missed a jump using that formatt yet. Knock on wood. 13. Here is the scoop, my friend got back back from the ukraine and was all inerested in getting into skydancing when the people over there told him that their canopies are "Different". When I asked him to elaborate he told me " They said they make them a little different, you know with a different material and thickness". Can someone shed some light on this here. Don't all the chutes come from reputable companies and not some Joe Ukraine in his mama's basement? "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." Napoleon Bonaparte

Hey I am also a desk jockey doing system admin for a telco. MTS in manitoba, Canada. It's not bad though, i get to play with expensive hardware all day long. Sit in a server room worth about 800 million dollars. Yeah i'd give it up to jump all day though. "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." Napoleon Bonaparte
  15. I don't give work my cell phone number for that one reason alone. I just switched jobs and was very glad to find out that I had to give them all that info again. Good thing I can take to the skies in peace on the weekends again. I would have to say though that the worst would be not being able to jump because of bad weather. 23. I'm in the same pool as you jessica. It takes me 20 mins to hit the ground from 3000. It really gets on my nerves. I start to think at around 2900 feet what am I going to have for dinner? I wonder if the beer light will be on when I hit the ground? then I start getting really creative. The beach is only 5km from here I wonder if the would make the drive over to get me if I landed there. My boss has a cabin in Gimili and she is always saying I should DROP in on the weekends to say hi. What would I really do and how would I respond if I suddenly fell out of this harness. Pretty much anything under the canopy uumm I mean SUN "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." Napoleon Bonaparte
  24. WOW that's it!!?!??! The peps at the DZ are cool with me using their stuff (money in their pockets) but I don't feel like i'm not a skydiver unless I have my own esquipment. having said that I love to freefly and would like to get equipment that suits me accordingly. If you see any more deals such as the one the got please message. "Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools." Napoleon Bonaparte
