  1. Bill You suggest that until people choose peace over war things won't change. How is this is achieved if one side will not choose peace? I don't mean to over simplify but you make it sound the same way. Amazon is 100% correct.
  2. So you feel that people are too stupid to figure it out ? I guess I could use that logic to explain Nov 4th...Prop 8 ? the election ? Alot of other things as well. I agree 100% with you that you treat people like you wish to be treated, but what if they don't do the same ? What if they are violent ? Is the U.N. the answer ? Should we turn the other cheek ?
  3. I don't really have a problem with following the Geneva Conventions. I don't really see the new admin following the Bush doctrine for better or worse do you ?
  4. I think it would make some happy if we could get the ACLU involved....
  5. If you don't like the electoral collage. then why ? Do you see any potential issues if just the pop vote is used ? Just wondering...
  6. I too don't like GWB but I took your comment as the Dems needed to thank him for their win last night. Should they not be giving credit to their ideas that got them here ? Maybe you see something else. I'm off to work now, need more tax money...
  7. So you agree that the Dems in the House, Senate and White House could never have gotten elected based on their ideas ? Interesting.... Do you think this is from a hatred of Bush or an uninformed population ?
  8. So by your own words we have already seen the #1 thing Obama will do ? It is to show the world the US is not in the hands of 2 families ? I don't think he showed this, maybe the voters did though. If this is really the #1 thing as you put it, then maybe you have very low hope for him. I personally won't judge what he does until around 6 months in office, but I expect much more from a man who promises change. I'll be glad to see Bush go but I worry that we'll see change that a majority won't like. As for Obama renewing faith from the rest of the world. I'm happy for them, but I question as to weather they have out best interests in mind.
  9. So if I may summarize from these posts. No one is really expecting much "change". At least in the first 6 months...Maybe I should have said 4 yrs sheesh.
  10. He may have been thinking about McCain but the quote belonged to Obama. I take it we should just ignore it ? After all we don't want to smear anyone...
  11. What do you think a president Obama will be able to do in his first 6 months ? I mean if he has the senate and house with him should he not be able to make improvements that we can see and or feel ? Should at least several of his campaign promises be fullfilled ? I am curious...
  12. So are you saying we should Not grow the economy so we can not pass on bills to our grandchildren ? I think that means "paying our own way"...Where have I heard that before ?
  13. Based on what you say and the fact that the avg IQ in the US is 98. I would say there is not much to worry about... Hong Kong was the highest IIRC at 107
  14. Just like a Lib...Always wanting sumthin fo nutin. I didn't want to see you left hanging out there prof.
  15. It won't apply to NBC,CBS etc because they don't lean to the right, thus they are already "fair".
  16. It has been my experience that young ladies brought up with less restrictive parents are the ones that "cut" loose. Although they do find out the hard way about STD's and their lack of understanding about birth control. Sadly I see this everyday.
  17. So you agree with me about Obama and read my lips, fair enough. I do think that the US needs to cut back spending and I amount that to paying our way to use your terms. Seems to me that there are limited choices out ouf this. spend less or raise taxes and of course a combo. Don't you think raising taxes on large companies will cause them to pass that along ? I don't think it would be horrible to raise their taxes but I do think by companies passing this along the middle class or whomever uses their products will pay. I thought these were the people to be helped. Top that off with a tax increase to the middle class and now they've been hit twice.
  18. If you feel taxes must go up and Obama wins and raises taxes will that be inconsistant what he has been telling voters ? Would that be close to a "read my lips" comment ?
  19. I have plenty of reasons not to vote Dem and my logic is quite good. For you to assert time after time Republican bad, Republican bad kinda sounds to me like a party hack. Saying I "hope" was my lame attempt at a joke. (so you don't think I'm testy) and no you can't offend me. peace
  20. Trust me I'm not worked up . As for a reason why I think the Rep party would be better...I guess I don't have solid one so I'll have to "Hope" they can do better. You see I believe in limited and smaller gov. Does anyone see either party wanting that. I think more along the lines of a conserative I guess. My point being neither party has gotten everything right and I would like a better option.
  21. I was refering to the pres, house and congress when you asked all 3 of what. I was merely asking a simple question. Furthermore I stated I was not a supporter of Bush. But the constant attacks and whining by some groups remind me of why I left the Dems. Is this only to say this happens on the left ? Of course not, but there is not a viable 3rd party and I haven't seen much new in over 20 yrs from my party...So what choice am I left with ? This is what got me thinking and how I arrived at my question. thanks
  22. Thanks for the info. I will be sure to follow up on it.
  23. If he lied or not during this speech is not overly important to me. His results and actions speak louder to me. There is no need to bash GW to me, I am not his fan. Make NO mistake, I am not condoning a lie, but for me to know if it was a lie I would need to know if that was his intention. hope this makes sense..
  24. Sorry- computer problem I think that anyone that considers W to be to the right is mistaken. Also iirc during the 70's I think all 3 were under the same party but I may be wrong so feel free to correct me. While i personally won't be voting for sen Obama I have am quite interested as to how this will play out. Will this be the answer to the woes of the country or after 4 yrs will it be "we're just getting started and need more time." My hope is that something good comes out of this and I will reserve judgement until I see results. My worry is that we get more of the same but with a left spin on it.
  25. I don't think it has worked out all that well esp when it comes to spending...But I was looking for others opinions. Care to share yours ?
