  1. I bought my gear after jump 14. I made sure to get LOTS of opinions first before deciding what was best for me.
  2. Last time I got on a balloon jump load at perris, the Great American Balloon Company stood us up without ever calling OR answering their phones when we called them asking wtf they were and the weather was gorgeous. If its with these same people, then I must respectfully decline.
  3. I second this. I didnt know her personally but the few memories I have of her she was always smiling. Thats what I sort of remember her for.
  4. I went to the rock climbing gym and the guy working there had a closing pin necklace. I asked him where he jumped and he said he did a tandem at Perris. So to answer your question... Im not sure if they would be a climber if wearing that. But chances are theyve tried it.
  5. A tandem harness cutaway system never sounded so tempting.
  6. Buy a Pilot, my flaking is VERY easy I came in here to post that.
  7. Yeah, I hated that fucking shit... Whoever invented that should have been shot years ago. I actually think those are pretty good Good then i know who to give all of mine to. Ill trade you for some pixie stix
  8. Peanut butter flavored taffy that came in the orange or black wrappers.
  9. Does this board have an ignore feature?
  10. Cause a lot of you on this board are rather mean.
  11. RUDE is leaving your shit all over the place. Rude is NOT moving said shit show the place can be cleaned. Get over yourself, and thank the roomies for being considerate enough not to throw your shit on you bed with a polite note about keeping the common areas tidy Thanks, mother.
  12. I think most people are digging at you for this part yet you leave your rig out and unpacked, how anal/obsessive compulsive could you possible be about "lifesaving equipment" if you leave the shit laying around??????? ROFL!! Touche, touche.
  13. Spot on. I dont know how you guys got on the tangent of me not knowing my equipment well enough. I know my gear inside and out, fyi. Call me obsessive compulsive or anal retentive but I agree with Andy. I just dont want someone who doesnt know shit about parachutes touching mine when I cant watch. It freaks me out for some reason. Even though I know she probably didnt damage it or anything. Its just the fact of the matter that bothers me. Like I said, Id be just as pissed if she were to drag my flatscreen tv across the carpet or anything else without telling me. Its just rude.
  14. To vaccum apparently. Jokes on her cause so much debris fell out when I packed it just now. From now on, the rig will remain packed when i am not home. I learned. Im just happy nothing was messed up and the reserve handle is still in place!
  15. Im not looking for any specific answer. Just opinions. I expected responses like yours and I understand that. But Id be upset if a roommate touched any expensive thing of mine without permission, not just a parachute. Im not mad at her though, she's just a whuffo who doesnt know any better. But I think Ill have to do a full canopy inspection now just to make sure she didnt snag anything in the doorways and rip a seam. Lesson learned.
  16. If you had left your unpacked rig in a corner of your apt and come home to find that a whuffo roommate had dragged it on the carpet into another room and then back again without your knowledge or permission? I understand it is the skydiver's responsibility to protect the rig from idiot whuffos but I can't imagine ever touching another roommates expensive looking equipment without giving them a heads up first. Just curious on your opinions and experiences
  17. Some of the coolest chicks in the sport I have met at Lodi. I think you'll like it there.
  18. More wear and tear on the gear is still cheaper than a lawsuit from an injured/dead tandem passenger.
  19. After I did my tandem, I showed the video to my mom and she thought it was cool but she still made me promise never to do it again. Of course I agreed (knowing that it was a lie) and did AFF three months later but didnt tell her. She found out through the grapevine what I was doing and kicked me out of the house and we didnt talk for about 3 months. Now that Im out on my own and supporting myself she is a lot more forgiving. We're on good terms now and she has accepted the skydiving (and still thinks its cool). I dont know how your parents will react but theres a good chance that if they are worry worts, they will react similarly to my mom.
