  1. Well I tried packing the thing 7 ways to sunday last weekend and the "holes" will not disapear, looks like it's going back to Sun Path for the winter. Does anyone have pictures of the rig "closed" properly?
  2. I actually own a Mirage, and I prefer my wings container for closing. It has all the closing features I like from both the Jav and Mirage
  3. yup it' a J3K . Sent the serial# and picture off to sunpath to get the skinny on it and it all checks out. They recomend running a tighter closing loop and tucking the tabs down further, however I still cant get the "holes" to go away. I did however find out that the rigs serial # falls into the batch that requires hip ring inspection.
  4. sabre 2 170 it should be the right size for the container. Unless the bottom flap was not cut right for the container. You can see the tape at the bottom of the container does not go under the side flaps and that "hole" it leaves exposes the bag
  5. I wondered about that too, or the possibility of the lines getting pushed by the closing loop tab as it rotates up on deployment. And yes I could see a potential for the loop to possibly horseshoe. I wonder if giving the bag a half turn before packing the chute into it would help?
  6. I have a jav container with "dynamic corners" or wing suit mod. If i pack the d-bag with the grommet to the reserve, the line / stows are exposed through the corners. To stop this I stack the bag on the lines with the grommet to the closing pin. This causes the container to "bulge" at the bottom moving the container/b.o.c. away from my back as the bag is taller than it is thicker. Question is why can we not pack the bag with the grommet to the b.o.c? What are the issues that arise from this method?
  7. A person I know had a stuck brake, she didn't want to chop, she tried to land it and broke two vertebrae. she won't jump for a while, if ever.... Of course given the correct skillset landing on rear is definitively feasible, but for most people I see on the dropzone (ie with very basic canopy skills, a shame but true nevertheless) it can be a dangerous bet.... True dat
  8. Flying High, Al MacDonald owns it, his containers are called the Sidewinder ( I hear they fit good around your "beaver" ) Damn...I'm funny...
  9. They are all good! Eden has a mixmash of every discipline jumping out there, also home of the famous plad jackets. Andrew Donald calls Edmonton skydive home he was organizing and training wingsuit jumpers for provincials this year and is trying to promote a larger presence of wing suits in Alberta. Hows your swoop? Peter Kozack jumps out at Skydive Bigsky and organizes swooping courses and swoop club. Pick your poison, 5 dropzones in Alberta why choose just one?
  10. The jump suit protects you and your clothes from grass stains scrapes etc. Not all tandem jumps are landed on your feet, (some may use a slide in depending on wind) so wearing a suit will prevent you from looking like a poster child for a Tide commercial Also Tandem masters use diffrent exits for diffrent airplanes (or students for that matter) and a forward or reverse roll may be part of the exit ...... or maybe they are just showin you a good time
  11. have the rig sent to your rigger for "inspection" you can insure the package for the replacement amount , but do not declare a purchace amount as you have not bought it. when your rigger gets it send a cheque to the seller and they send you a bill of sale. Don't buy in to the Canadian gov't money grab and welcome to free trade!
  12. What ? are you kidding, this is gettin good ! I'd like to hear more about the rant she had after blocking the car. Tune in tomorow to, As The Prop Turns.
  13. I wonder if pilots will have to be Strong rated to drop tandems in the future and then be required to give the whole load a gear check before boarding (and by some stretch of the imagination) prior to exit? Seriously, placing that much onus on a pilot only sets them up for a "sue everyone who was awake at the time" scenario such as this.
  14. aprx 22 inches by 30 for a sabre 2 170
  15. Bwaaaha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaa ha ha ha ha haaahaha ha ha ..ach ... cough ...achem, ....achem, ...ach .......excuse me ...... ........... bwaaaahaha haha ha ha he he ha....... thats because she uses a tire iron as a teaching aid, and i'm sure if you didn't listen you'd come out lookin like a clubed baby seal Seriously though dude, it's been a year since you posted this , you've had time to think, cool your jets etc where's your head at now? Jumpin starts in a few weeks and you don't want a "Holliday" on your ass! DISCLAMER: Holliday does not use a tire iron when teaching ..(that often) and no seals at any time were harmed
  16. Or we could split Afghanistan and give it to it's neighbours, and pull out completley. Afghanistan will not exist, and Pakistan will be huge.
  17. well I see from previous posts you have jumped your sr 12 a couple dozen times. What are your thoughts on it ? Is this camera gona hold together for skydiving use? Sounds a bit like Sony does'nt even know. please reflect your thoughts on this model, procedures (for altitud) etc.
  18. hahaha hey i ticked the 150 box i think all the people the ticked that box have handycams lol but all jokes aside i`m flying a 135 ft hellracer *CANOPY* right now with about 20 lbs more on me then when i`m skydiving and my landings have been fine. More like beat you with a rubber hose...

    OXYGN A3

I purcased my oxygen helmet at the beginning of this year. I put on about 20 jumps before my helmet decided to transform itself into a hood scoop in freefall. It is hard to describe the feeling of having your head snaped back in freefall at 120 mph, other than being in a car accident....backwards. Call me a coward, but the second time I had this happen (it opened twice on the same jump, two jumps later) I started to duct tape it closed. This worked fine until the tape started to wear out and the visor opened one last time in freefall, breaking right down the middle. Nothing like a jagged piece of plastic fluttering in front of your eye before pulling! Doesn't need snaps? Don't need tabs? I think Sky Systems needs to re-think what kind of a product they are putting on peoples heads. These helmets are dangerous. Put a snap or tab on them before someone really gets hurt! I don't care that it has one, if it stops my helmet from "blowing apart". And then there's the small issue of my replacement lense, which i've been waiting for, for the last two months...... My sympathies to the people who own one you've now spent 300$ on a helmet that has a high malfunction rate. Put the duct tape on and change it often....and if you're not sure where to put the tape, just have a look at the front page of last months Skydive Magazine (the 4 way team jumping out of the porter)all the pros are doing it!
