The way I would go about it would be to arrange a course with a single dz before I left, get in my solos, and maybe a few more before I start going to other dz's. Id prefer to stay with the same instructors for the duration and as you said, for more credibility when I do go elsewhere. Im happy as anything with a tent, as long as ive got a few coronas and a bbq to go with it Id also more than likely be spending a day hanging around to get a feel of the place beforehand. Im long overdue a good holiday, and ive got nothing holding me back... ill only regret it in 40 years time if I didnt

Hey guys, I was planning on going for a trip across america in a few months time, just for a bit of travelling as ive never been there before (even though my parents used to live there and my dad is still a regular visitor). Ive noticed that the aff course is in most places, at least half the price than here in the uk. I was thinking of having the next few months to get plenty more tunnel time in, then do the aff over there. And maybe be able to visit some more dz's on my travels! The main thing im concerned about is that I will more than likely be on my own out there, not knowing anybody! Has anybody on here been in my situation before? and how did you find it going to another country to do your training? I guess im just kinda worried that after ive done my training in the day, ill be going back to an empty room of a night, and not be able to share my new found experiences with others at the time. Thanks!

When I went up on my tandem, I felt exactly the same I used to suffer from pretty bad anxiety attacks, which was on my mind at the time. But I found that the deep breathing and talking to the person next to me on the plane helped a lot. To be honest, I wasnt worried if the chute opened or not at the time (is that normal on the way up?) but more the simple fact that the door is going to open in a minute and im going to be going out of it! The thought of doing it again scares the crap out of me, especially on my own... im sitting here at work with that feeling in the pit of my stomach just thinking about it! but i seem to be spending all my spare money on tunnel time at the moment, plus ive already set some aside for aff when im ready.

A fatal flaw in my opinion, the only outcome of it has been half of poland moving to britan. and romania. I also think we have most of india here now too. all of which have more rights, and get treated better than us. shame

oh but dont get me wrong, they are both on my 'to do' list

Zeemax - Just that I could of got 10 minutes tunnel time at bedford for a better price. the tunnel size also had a factor in it too. Ive booked time at airkix on sunday evening anyway though as bedford was fully booked ;) djd - Headcorn is my nearest, although ive not been there yet! I did my tandem at the NLPC, chatteris. Also I understand mass can create energy and energy can create mass, what kind of energy is theorized to have created gravity, electromagnetism, strong nuclear, and weak nuclear forces nanoseconds after the "big bang"? Something had to be there before right? Such as the mass from a super massive black hole that evaporated to the point it did not have enough gravity to contain the mass? Thats what ive always thought. what if the universe stops expanding, then collapses back in on itself? maybe that is the only way to create an explosion enormous enough to spread all that matter out that we call the universe. then theres the fact that it may be an infinite repeating event. that could also be happening elsewhere... One about stars is that usually when huge stars over 5 stellar masses dies it can go through gravitational collapse and turn into neutron star, or go supernova and can can possibly go black hole after. What factors decide which way it will go? Is it the amount of mass left over after expansion and contraction? I would imagine it would have something to do with mass/density?
