  1. DOG F O U N D !!!!!!! Thank you all for your support while we searched for Maddie. She was found this morning by a neighbor just trotting down the road a few miles from the Farm. Her only battle wounds are a sliced nose and scratched eye... not too bad for a pampered city pup who spent over 4 days in the woods by herself. Thanks again all!!
  2. LOST DOG... please help!! My boyfriend's dog ran away from the Farm on Saturday night and we still can't find her. She was out front of the hangar and ran away when the fireworks were set off. She's never seen fireworks, so i'm sure she just got scared and is now lost. She's a two year old Golden Retreiver named Maddie. She had on a red collar with tags, but it was fairly loose so we're afraid it may have fallen off by now. She's super friendly and tends to run up to people. If anybody has any information, please give us a call. We're hoping somebody who was out front when the fireworks started may have seen which direction she ran off to or maybe somebody saw her on Sunday when they were driving home. Any help would be very much appreciated!! Brandy - 404.429.1705 Brad - 334.444.5103 I also put a post in the bonfire thread... Find Maddie! photos attached...

    ATL locals

Welcome to the south... we're a little slower here. -Brandy
  5. IHI is absolutely phenomenal! On top of paying for everything while i was out of my home country (including an immediate transfer from a public hospital to a much pricier private one) , they were friendly and easy to work with and wired the money from all of my expenses back to my account within two weeks of returning home. On top of my fairly extensive medical bills (major surgery, a few days in ICU, another week in the hospital, another week in a hotel), they arranged and paid for my parents to fly over the same day and covered their hotel and expenses as well. On top of all that, they upgraded my return flight home to first class so i would be more comfortable. I sincerely could not recommend IHI more highly! In fact, i've already purchased their coverage for my next base trip... Italy, look out! -Brandy
  6. So here's my advice that i hope you'll never need... should you have a 'mishap' and need medical attention in KL, make sure they take you to the Pantai Medical Center. KL General is a total hole that makes operating on yourself seem like the preferable option. Oh, and if you end up at Pantai, can you say hi to the awesome nurses on floor 5 for me? Also, as with any international trip, don't leave home without International Health Insurance (www.ihi.com). They paid all my bills, no questions asked, and were great to deal with. Malaysia rocks... have fun and look out for the water pipes!
  7. Collin, i am SO psyched for you two! Sounds like you guys are having a blast in Argentina. Since you still haven't sent my KL video back yet, i put Jane in charge of sending pics of the ring. So have you woken up from your Tylenol PM coma yet? You tool. Much love and best wishes to you both!! -Brandy PS - so which of the pups gets to be the ring bearer? Baxter gets my vote.

    Retired

Well, you know you'll be dearly missed... who else is going to cut my shoelace free from razor wire (while laughing hysterically, threatening to cut off my pants, and walking through the gate)? and make me an award so that i'll NEVER be able to live it down? and pass out on Ray's couch with a 'fuck it' stamp on your neck (while dragging your bloody toe)? and strap a laser beam to the head of the infamous carolina corn snake? and bitch about my 3-D jenga skillz (while downing cookies like a champ)?! Ice shields will never be the same... Much love, Mikey!! -Brandy PS - dibs on your pin rig!

    razor wire

OK, seriously, isn't once enough?! Its official. I suck. Well, at fence climbing anyways. And i'll have you know, my 'award' is proudly displayed in my living room with one of those museum-ish lights hanging over it. Yeah, i'm that cool.

    KL stories?

I concur... you definitely have the best story! Although i have a pretty 'good' one, too. Maybe next year we can compare scars... So check it out... there's an awesome pic of Richard and James jumping from the tower on Time Magazine's Pictures of the Week (#5). Lookin' good, boys! (sorry, not sure how to make it clicky) http://www.time.com/time/potw/20060901/ -Brandy
  11. Add two!! EJ and I will be representin' last year's "Crack Boat". We're planning to drive up Friday night and would definitely be down for some night rafting any night. Jumping on Saturday would be cool, but i could go either way. Just camping and playing in the water would make me happy. I'm sure we could find some cool hikes nearby, too. 12. Huge congrats on your 'E', Rusticle!! I know how much time, thought and planning you guys put in to this... not to mention that it required balls of steel!! Wish i could have been there and i can't wait to see the video! -Brandy
  13. Finally legal?! Following the current trend in base, i think 25 is too old for this dating pool. Might as well retire now... Thanks for the call... see you in 2 weeks! -Brandy
  14. Wow, took me a day to run in to this one... thanks! :) Gotta love climbing in to a sky full of stars. That was definitely a juicy birthday base... perfect way to kick off the next quarter-century! -Brandy
  15. Dammit boy! Almost a month without any of those pictures surfacing and I thought i was in the clear... wrong again! Yes, heed the locals advice when they say 'don't swing your leg out too far'... they mean it! I learned that lesson the hard way. May that shoelace rest in peace...
  16. Wow, sucks for ya'll. Head south... we had a great weekend of jumping. I think it was about 70 degrees on Saturday night.
  17. Hey now, that fence wasn't half as bad as ya'll made it out to be. A shoelace was a small price to pay for such a kick-ass jump! Thanks for everything, Mike, but you have got to teach those snakes to quit scurrying around when we're trying to land. So when are you making the trek down to check out our Old Faithful? And 570, your shoes are still in my car. -Brandy
  18. A wise(ass) man once said, "Aerials are so 90's." Abbie, i'd definitely be up for it. And when you factor in all the swimming i'll inevitably be doing, even YOU could beat me! I think making it a charity event would be great. We can always stand to do a little brown-nosing toward the good people of TF... especially now that they have to live with you on a full-time basis. For real though, my money is on Baxter. That man climbs like a mountain goat on crack. Just don't get stuck behind him on a Huevos Rancheros morning. -Brandy

    big ass cave

Yeah, just ask 570 about the killer poison dart frogs in that cave... he almost killed a bus load of jumpers getting his up-close-and-personal look at one of them on our AF trip. Gotta love those shenanigans... made for some great video! -Brandy
  20. Duh... of course you should bring your rig! PM sent, too -Brandy
  21. I am in no way trying to be an authority on who should or should not base jump. Your post is one big contradiction. You say that people need to do something to make a difference, but when I try to keep a rig out of the wrong hands, you reprimand me for not doing enough. I have 40 jumps... no where near enough to mentor somebody. If, at this point in time, all I can do to 'lead' is be accountable for who I sell a rig to, how is that not doing my part to make a difference? If you are not looking to buy a rig, I can't understand why you are so hell-bent on criticizing my post. You said "I think it's good idea that we should have training in this sport"... then why would you challenge the idea of making sure the person has a plan for proper training? When I said "you" in my earlier post, I was more referring to someone trying to buy a rig without a thought toward how they would learn to use it. If I am taking your comments out of context, I apologize, but I am understandably infuriated when you suggest that qualifying a potential buyer is over-stepping my abilities. Maybe its just me being selfish... if something were to happen to the person I sold my rig to, and they had no right to be jumping it, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. -Brandy
  22. I have my second rig for sale and on the posting I'm asking that they give me their mentor's name or show that they are enrolled in a first jump course. Didn't really consider that to be asking too much, but then I got his random PM today: I can't even believe this guy is serious! Am I crazy for taking some caution with who I pass a rig on to? It seems really elementary to me to make sure someone getting in to BASE is willing to make at least *some* effort to learn the right way. Sorry 'skypetey' but if you're not willing to put some effort in to keeping yourself alive, i'm not willing to be the one that gives you the rig you're going to kill yourself with. -Brandy

    MTV's True Life

QuoteGunnar ... has sweat glands the size of an elephant especially around his nuts!!! (I'm sure Brandy will second this!!!) Quote Whoa, kiddo... i don't think i like being considered an authority on Gun's ball sweat tendencies. Most of us have learned to always climb ahead of him... especially when he's wearing shorts on those particularly humid mornings. Thanks for taking one for the team, Bax! -Brandy

    MTV's True Life

Gunnar is our 'local celebrity'. I don't know how to put this, but he's kind of a big deal. People know him. I'm feeling quite honored to have jumped the now famous Kenny Sucks helmet off AF. -Brandy
  25. I was SO wishing i could join ya'll, but i don't think i'll be able to get away. I hope you and Abbie have a great dual-birthday jump... and i REALLY hope Baby Aiello gets to share your date! I'm sure Tom and Cheri are keeping their fingers crossed for the same thing... -Brandy
