  1. Ok, I know a few of my last posts had me bitching, moaning, worried and whatnot...that was never my intension and hope the following doesn't sound similar I've come to realize really hate my job....working as an insurance agent sucks donkey balls! For the first time in a long time I felt (unfortunately for only a brief moment) that I head everything together and going right when I landed a job that had an OK base salary plus great commission. I was making anywhere from 50 to 200 calls a day, and to no avail; production was nearly nonexistent. My boss called me yesterday morning and told me that my base salary was being cut and I could keep my job if i wanted, but would be working 100% commission, AGAIN Now, either the market is really that bad (banks are closing left and right) or I suck at sales, either way I don't think this is for me. I'm willing to work in other areas of insurance, just not sales. Underwriting would be nice, but everywhere I've looked you need experience... I've already decided that I'm going back to school, but that's another 2 years and 3 months away; in the mean time I need to work and pay bills like everyone else. Can you get a decent job with an associates of liberal arts degree? Most of my experience is in an office setting. if you know of anything good in the Chicago area, or even around the country please PM me. I hope I find something soon; I don't like this present feeling or the vibe it may be (probably is) sending out to people. This is not the real me. I found the 1 thing in life that makes me happy, and now I can't even work towards my A.... As always thanks a bunch....you guys are great

I have respect for everyone on the road, and always keep my distance. Yes, I may speed at times, but if you're behind me, coming towards, whatever, you'll always know what I'm about to do (turn signals and whatnot.) As far as seing stuff like this, I agree with Billy....God must like stupid people, because He sure made enough of them. I have respect for bikers as well, actually I like bikes (just am afraid to ride them.) I know that these guys were some of the few bad ones. So I'm coming home from Nationals last night, minding my own business when out of no where I had the scare of my life (thus far.) It was OK drive; little to know traffic for the entire 80 miles. For a moment, I ran into a pack of semi trucks, no big deal, than I hear the familiar sound of crotch rockets. I remember 5-6 of them, and all were speeding past traffic; I was going 80 mph, so they must have been going 120 or so. That's fine, I guess...but as I was driving this 1 PUNK decides to squeeze between me and the semi to my left NOT in 1 lane than the other, literally between me and a semi, on the white lines dividing the lanes; he had inches of clearance He damn near surely killed himself, if not both of us. I suppose this is why bikers are ideal organ donors. I hate driving... Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

  7. If need be I can run to the restroom real quick. During the daytime shifts there are generally two people on so it's not big deal. But during the overnight shift it's just the one person. So if I have to pee I have to pee quick. It's just part of the job. That's just wrong on so many levels. If, for example you went on 1 quick breakwhile a call came in and someone died as a result, technically, you could have a lot of explaining to do. And I think that's total horse shit. You shouldn't have to submit to such conditions and your employer shouldn't be putting people at risk by being understaffed. "just part of the job"? 8. I only have 1 beer in crib ....fortunately, it's a damn good beer
  9. It's an example of a mistake. It wasn't intentional to be THAT low. BASE wing suit proximity flying often equals very little to no ground rush then a realization of beeing way to low followed by pulling and crossing your fingers. He screwed up and got away with it. I just wish they didn't cut the scene short. My mistake. I'm still in my infancy in the sport.....and will be for quite some time. To me, that looked intensional because I didn't know any better; hence why I said what I said. Thank you for correcting me. 16. I'd agree with Complexity, but add Elmwood Park, Schiller Park, and the Gold-Coast neighborhoods. I live in a decent neighborhood on the North side of the city. It all depends on where you want to be in terms of distance to your job and whether you want to rent or buy. FYI: from where I live, it's approximately 60 miles to Chicagoland skydiving Center (a great drop zone, cough cough ) and 80 miles to Skydive Chicago....also a good place, full of fun people Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of
  17. OK, I have good news and bad news...the good news is I did some reading about the breed of my dog; turns out the Maltese is good for allergy sufferers *Maltese have no undercoat, and have little to no shedding if cared for properly. Like their relatives Poodles and Bichon Frisé, they are considered to be largely hypoallergenic and many people who are allergic to dogs may not be allergic to the Maltese.* So it's probably not my dog that's causing the problem. The bad news is I don't know what I'm allergic to, or if it's indeed an allergy. (most likely is ) though since when I'm in the car, at the DZ or generally anywhere outside I have no symptoms (itchy and runny nose.) Note: there are many dogs at our DZ, and I don't seem to exhibit noticeable reactions; I sneeze a little bit, and my nose runs a bit, but nothing big. Its NOTHING like when I'm at home; here I'm constantly blowing and scratching my nose, not to mention sneezing up a storm. Ya know, I realize skydiving costs a lot, I'm cool with the idea of having to modify my rig a bit because of my disability, and, I accept the fact that jumping is somewhat dangerous and thus there may be a posting about me in the blue skies forums 1 day (really hope not)........but I'm sure as hell not giving up jumping before I'm even licensed because of allergy or potential sinus problems! Jumping and/or at least being at the DZ is one of the very few things that make me happy; I have a smile on my face from the time I get there to the time I leave. I don't, and can't see myself not getting my A and jumping year after year, starting next season....
