  1. Maybe the national news SHOULD cover it.... Perhaps it would show the rest of the world, Muslims included, that not all Americans are ignorant, hate mongering, twat muppet, extremist type Christians.

  2. I vote yes. My only reservations to the death penalty are 1) The costs to tax payers for the seemingly endless appeals processes and 2) The possibility of executing an innocent man. My solution to this would be an independant review of all evidence and essentially an independant second bench trial (outside the jurisdiction of the original trial) where the DP was given. If both convict, then allow 1 timely appeal. If the appeal fails, grant the fucker his last meal and put a bullet in his head (or hang him, fry him, juice him up... I don't really care by what method the sentence is carried out.

it is never easy to be patient with the 9 out of 10 who will not listen. but, if the 10th changes their mind and saves themselves from an avoidable injury, it is worth a little aggravation.

Agreed. Unfortunately, we never hear about, or from, that 1 person who did change their mind. It'd be nice to occassionally hear from those folks. ...and I kinda suspect that there might be more than we think.

  4. when stowing the excess thru the loop on the backside of the riser, I find it helps alot to 'twist up' the gathered excess, and then 'push' it thru the loop attached to the riser. Once the little turtle head appears, gently grab it and pull it a bit

  5. Most dz jumpsuits smell like ass! It's usually a requirement actually, for 2 reasons... 1) the staff doesn't have any additional work load by having to do a few loads of laundry every week, and 2) the rank helps to encourage students to pass their objectives so they can get the hell off student status! :P

Now you have. I was really, really drunk though. More like passed out then feel asleep, but either way I was snoring.

...and I still haven't, per the rest of my post. ;)

  7. Get up... move around... and if you can, find a co-worker to give ya head. I've yet to hear of anyone who actually fell asleep while receiving. And before ya say it, passing out drunk is not falling asleep. :P

  8. IMHO... very bad idea, mostly for the reasons mentioned previously. Another reason not to, and one that I've personally seen... A buddy stuck a ball point pin thru his main closing loop to prevent an accidental deployment while riding. He remembered that pen whilst burning thru 2K. [:/] Thankfully, he did remember to remove the pull up cord he used to tie down the reserve handle before he boared the plane though...

  9. I've had tension knots twice... In both instances, the knots were cleared by relieving tension on the lines. In the first instances, a knot prevented my slider from dropping more than about 1/4 of the way down the lines. A control check of the canopy wouldn't clear it. In the second case, the R brake line was fouled up, and upon a controlablity check I noticed that I could pull the toggles down but the R side wouldn't go up. I did clear both tension knots though.... This was done by following the time honored method of cutting away and pulling my reserve, followed by and appropriate NSTIWTIWGD story while passing out beverages that evening....

  10. In addition to all that, it would only be fair to mention that the offender isn't without rights and priveledges.

IF the offender disagrees with owing beer or not, he / she does indeed have the right to appeal to the local S&TA and/or DZO. The offender has the right, and should be given every opportunity to justify why they don't owe for the infraction or justify why the penalty should not be invoked. Upon careful examination of all the evidence presented in the appeal, the S&TA and/or DZO is honor and duty bound to carefully examine and consider all sides of the issue, and only after due diligence and consideration will the S&TA / DZO summarily rule against the offender for the infraction. In addition, since the offender issued an appeal, and additional penalty case will be owed in conjunction with the original penalty or penalties.

At this time, it should be noted that the penalty case shall not be excluded from the 3 case rule... ;)

I can see him charging for it if the conditions were already very turbulent on the ground and I decided to try to jump anyways...

I've seen a couple of cases where the dzo made the call; radio'd the plane and instructed the pilot to advise the load of ground winds and only permit D license holders to jump, thereby causing a few folks to land with the plane. Only us knuckle heads that jumped got charged. In my view, the dzo was covering his ass(ets); preventing injuries to those who's ego was trying to cash checks their ass couldn't cover. ;)

If the dzo calls the plane back then it's his dime, otherwise you pay for the ride.

  12. I think the sentence is unfair! ....to the taxpayers that are now burnded to support his ass while in prison. Wouldn't it be less expensive to lock him up in an institution where he can be forced to sober up and treat his alcoholism until cured? And then, upon release, be permanently required to wear an alcohol monitoring device, as well as be required to take meds so that if he does consume alcohol he becomes violently ill? Is there such a med?

  13. Listen only to your instructors, dzo, and me.... They know you and your abilities, and will likely find you a better deal than you can find on your own.

As far as folks swearing a particular rig is the "the best" out there, well... that's kinda like folks swearing that there's nothing better than a fiery red head with big hooters and a rock hard ass! While it may be true... banging a blond, brunette, Asian, or Indian will certainly get the job done, feel great during the ride, and put a F'n smile on your face! ;)

  14. :D Good advice. I jump a Sabre 2 and "had issues" with the openings until I RTFM. :) Just flake as normal and leave the nose alone; don't roll it, pull it out, stuff it in, roll end cells, or anything. Just flake it and wrap the tail around it normally. I should prolly add that I 'somewhat loosly' wrap the tail, and pull the slider to the rear, and have enjoyed nice 700-800' on heading openings the vast majority of the time.

  15. You would be correct. I had a D license and took a short 16 yr hiatus before coming back to the sport. Upon my USPA membership renewal, all of my licenses were as valid as the day I earned them.
