Geocache Navigator, Blackstar at the moment... I'm looking for a BB Storm compatible Astronomy app, something that shows major constelllations, perhaps a link to the 'story' behind it. Any ideas?Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -

I'm thinking of getting the Storm 2 this weekend, but am pondering the significance of wifi on the phone. thoughts?Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
Well lets face it.... some folks just aren't qualified (no matter how you slice it) or fit to be parents. Why is it that you need a license / register w/the govt to drive a car, catch a fish, buy a gun, etc etc etc.... but if you can figure out how to drop your pants than your allowed to breed?Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
Obviously, he's never heard of, or met, Bolas.

QuoteJust for the record, no Virgins have been near my kitty tonight!
I'm lost... I thought the topic of this conversation had something to do hair in your mouth. ...Not whether someone was a virgin or not. Not theres anything wrong with virgins mind you, especially when enthusiasm makes up for their lack of experience.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
QuoteI know the owner of said business, & his general manager is a friend of mine also. I'm thinking about making things a little uncomfortable for Speedy. Suggestions?
Generally speaking... most folks only carry 1 spare tire around with them, and valve stems are cheap!Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
Only advice I can offer is to NOT get the shiny screen... nothing worse than dropping a bit o'cash on something that reflects all the lights in the room. My 47" has the anti-glare coating and I couldn't be happier with it. It's an LG btw... 1080dpi, 120hz, 6hdmi slots, and an intel sensor that adjusts the brightness to the ambient light levels of the room. YMMV, but it makes the wifey happy so I guess that makes me happier by default.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
Call the dz.... ask em if they're jumping... there's more to skydiving than jumping out of a plane, and you'll learn more, and faster, just by being at the dz.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
For years I resisted getting a phone... the last thing I wanted was the wifey calling me to have me bring home some milk/bread or sumtin when I'm out with the guys, fishing, or at the dz. One day, my son had an allergic reaction to a peanut while in school... I was at work, and was lucky to find out about it while it was happenning. I've had a cell on me at all times after that.
As far as a crackberry goes, I don't have one but plan on getting the Storm 2 as soon as its avail to folks in the US. Primarily for work and geocaching, which as a Verizon customer the app only works on the Storm models.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -

Grats to you both! Some of my best memories in and out of skydiving are jumping with my dad.
So do tell... what was the cause or her 'function?Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
I was PCG for my dad as he died of pancreatic cancer. I kept some pretty detailed journals of his meds, med schedule, how he was doing, etc. As time went on, I found the journals also started incorporating some of my thoughts/feelings as well. I kept them for a few years and occassionally read through them, reflecting. I eventually realized that I was keeping them because I wasn't really able to let go...
One of his dying wishes was to be cremated, and have his ashes dispursed on my mothers grave (she was buried in 'her' families plot and gaining their permission to do this was absolutely out of the question). I honored his wish, as she was his one true love till the day he died...
Back to the journals... I felt an inner need, not something I can really explain, to let go. So I reverently burned the journals, gathered the ashes, and went back to our home dz where some of my best memories of him were made while skydiving with him. I gave him an ash dive of sorts... and let him go. As the years have passed, I reflect back on what was unquestionably a healing experience.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
First off, I've never jumped there so I'm in no position to comment on this particular dz. The dz.com reviews paint it to be a pretty nice little dz (for what that's worth...) so if I ever had the chance I wouldn't hesitate to drop by. It might only be once though....
This being said, there are some things common to ALL dz's in that the HNIC (Head Nigga In Charge) is the DZO. His dz... his planes... his rigs... his authority... his ass on the line... etc. If you have an issue or problem that can't be resolved to your satisfaction via speaking with the staff, then go talk to him/her. Generally speaking, they're just like you and me in that they're human (or humanoid) and put their pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us. Have you talked to Larry about your issues / concerns? What was his response? There's always at least two sides to every story.
Ever hear the addage 'you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinager' ? I'd be willing to bet that the outcome would be a lot more to your liking if wouldn't have let this issue fester without talking with the HNIC and then go hit a public forum slamming them. YMMV, but I doubt it.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -

IF your being arrested by a fake cop, then your not being arrested. Your being assaulted and/or kidnapped. I suggest you protect yourself as if your life depended on it.
If your being arrested by someone w/ "no legal jurisdiction" such as the American Police Force in Hardin, Montana... see above.
Yes I've seen some video's of the G20... I don't personally agree with their (police) actions, but as an American citizen we have legal recourse to attempt to resolve those disputes. Taking the law into ones own hands, IMHO, should be a LAST resort and not the first. Due process is a two-edged sword. Thankfully, we still have the legal recourses to fall back on.
The above being said... if the legal recourse are taken away from us, then it's a whole new ball game! IMHO... YMMVRandomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
None. That's what the courts are for, right?
Generally speaking of course. Without a bit of details concerning the specifics than I can't give a better answer.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
Yep, and I'm sure all those folks mentioned in my post would agree...Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
What, didn't read to the bottom of the post? I've included the pertinant part:

Someone once said something to the effect that 'if you don't know your history, your bound to repeat it'... the following is some food for thought:
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control.. From 1929 to 1953,
about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded
up and exterminated.
------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million
Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total
of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were
rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000
Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated..
------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated
------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million
educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.
-----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century
because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been >12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by
new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their
own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500
million dollars. The first year results are now in:
List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in
armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the
past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is
unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the
ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was
expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The
Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them
of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens.'
Without them, we are 'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew
most Americans were ARMED!
Note: I didnt' check the figures above as this was just c/p from an email... but I think the point is well made regardless of the technical accuracy... For those who wish to dispute the above, feel free to do so. BUT... also include 1, just one, example of a non-oppressed society where the citizens are actually better off in terms freedoms from the political power structure. Just one. Please, enlighten us.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
I call bullshit.... Take a carpenters hammer away from him, and he'll use a stone to drive the nail. Take a fisherman's rod from him, and he'll use a stick. Take guns away, and the criminal will use a baseball bat, broom handle, knife, bomb, tire iron, ...or whatever else he can pick up. And, you'll have an army of "formerly" law-abiding citizens...
Guns are NOT the problem. Closed minded, non thinking for themselves or remembering relevant world history sheeple are the problem.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born... -
I've said it before and I'll say it again, slowly this time in the hopes that at least some of the gun-ophobes might actually understand... Guns don't kill people any more than forks make people fat.Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
