  1. haha, Yeah, those ring sites creep me out. Almost asking to snag a line on one. Not like a side mount open camera is much better, but something about those eye sights I do not like, though they work well I know.
  2. Considering the gear involved...roughly $2000, which doesn't include your rig, isn't it a bit low to get @$30 for a video jump? If you had video gear for the sole purpose of making money, you'd do 150 jumps, before breaking even. Not to mention wear and tear, etc. So, if a tandem averages $200, why just $30 for the video and $30 for the tandem master. It's almost insulting.
  3. No, most can't play HD, if not almost all.
  4. Very simply, yank part of the shirt through your leg straps, works fine.
  5. For sure, I never try to get "the shot" when I film. I just try to be relative and jump, whatever the camera gets, it gets. With a still camera, I won't think the same. Also, my flying isn't to the point where I can get a smooth carving head down shot or be right where I want for a freefly dive, maybe that's why I don't plan on getting a shot...haha RW shouldn't be that bad though or tandems.
  6. So you need to keep your head still when shooting video too? No wonder my footage blows. My head movement is smooth when jumping, but I never focus on it to keep it completely still. I'm sure it must be more still when shooting an image because video doesn't blur out on you, where as a still will. I've been shooting shots with a SLR for about 5 years now, so I have some idea of how to use one, but never for jumping of course.
  7. Yeah, I know unlike video, you better have your head still. It's going to be a learning experience for sure. I'm using the 18mm lens that comes with it. I know for exit shots it may not be wide enough, but it's ok for now. So roughly 1/500 for sunny days, then 1/250 for cloudy ones?
  8. What is the best setting on a Canon XTi Rebel for shooting freeflying. Aside from a wide lens, what is the best default automatic setting you use? Such as sport mode, etc? Or do you use manual and set the shutter speed to 1/500 for example? How still must your head be to get a clean shot? Thanks in advance.
  9. Talk about your tragic losses. How much can a fucking weight belt cost $70? haha Buy a new one. No less post on it.
  10. Buy a base rig. I don't think there is an age requirement for that.
  11. Great intro! Did you use After Effects, and which plugins did you use? Nice job.
  12. Join the club. I busted the right brake line on my Sabre 2 190 @254 jumps, then the left brake line @280 jumps. I'm not sure what caused it, but I cut them both away...ahah If it happens again, I'm landing it.
  13. Not at all. I find it funny that some girls want to have boobs like mine so much that they'll go under the knife to get it. I guess we all can't be blessed to have natural D's. That's cutting it close for me. For safe measure, I don't like to go under a D. A full DD is just about right for meditation standards. Nothing like a big natural set of milk bladders
  14. Yes, they intended to pull it off. That Jeff guy is full of shit. He said he's the "Mr. Bill go-to-guy". Matt should have known with 30 jumps, he wasn't be honest...haha
  15. I feel very tense and filled with anger and irritation!
  16. The jump number wasn't lowered, but the "I'm the man" attitude was a joke.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dg_dnNY_0-Q Mr. Bill attempt.
  18. Funny post. Competition geeks...I prefer RW Cyborgs. At bigger dropzones, there are plenty of fun jumpers left.
  19. After looking at everything again, unstowing the left toggle may have been a good idea. I saw the broken right brake line and automatically assumed, the parachute was shot. In actuality, it may have been ok to fly. All the same, it felt good to cut that bitch. Yeehaw Mutha*%*(#)%...oh, voice overdub there..haha
  20. It appeared so, but it wasn't flying straight, granted I had the other toggle stowed still...oops..haha I could have tried landing it with the rear risers, but didn't want to figure out it wasn't working at 500ft. Due to the hard opening and busted line, line twist, I just cut it.
  21. Within reason, I would agree. Be competent on your stomach first, then move on. Able to do turns and control forward motion, tracking, etc. I made a jump with a freeflier who had 2000 jumps...all freefly. We went to our stomachs to form a round, he went straight into a tracking position and almost took me out. I couldn't believe someone could be so horrid on their stomach with so many jumps. I wouldn't wait hundreds of jumps to start though because you'll only hault your progress, not help it. Being great at RW doesn't necessarily carry over to a good head down. I know people with 800+ jumps who can't fly in the head down position, but they are great at RW. If you love freeflying, work on that, as long as you can control yourself on your belly. If I waited until now to start freeflying, I'd be that much worse at it.

  23. If you knew you'd someday die from skydiving, would you continue to jump?
  24. You can see him duck to pull his ripcord, inducing the front flip on opening. Those guys should do higher jumps with multiple practice pull attempts. Nice recovery though.
  25. Update us on how the money refund/rig goes. Scammers are the lowest lifeform on earth. I've sold a parachute on here and have another PD 210 for sale. So far, no problems, but I am the seller, which usually helps..haha Good luck though.
