Thanks for the help Jim. After I looked it over again it seems to be right. I really appreciate it!

Hmmm. But then it would end up being -16=2(9.87)(d) ---> -16 = 19.74(d) -----> d= -0.81meters ....but that just doesn't sound right at all.
-
ya i made sure it was in degree mode. After substituting everything in the equation i got 0squared = (4) squared + 2(9.87)(d) but Im' kind of stuck on that. (I know, my math is HORRIBLE) After trying to solve that I somehow ended up with 0squared=35.74(d) and thats where i got stuck, 0squared over 35.74 =d

THANKS!!! OK so i got 5.978meters, is that totally fucked or is it just me?
-
umm nope thats literally the whole problem out of the book. The force though would just be gravity (g) 9.80m/s/s. Then some kind of trig used either cosine sine or tangent i dont even know if so confused.

Where was this at?

Ok anybody here who is good at physics i need some help. The problem is basically, a sled weighing 20kg is pushed with a velocity of 4m/s up a 20 degree incline with a 0.20 coefficient of friction. How far up the incline does the sled move? If anybody can help me solve this pleeeease do post.

I have never used one of the boards you posted, but I have owned a FreeBoard for at least 4 years now, and I can say IT IS AMAZING! Feels exactly like snowboarding. There is a 3rd wheel on each end that allows you to slide sideways, and even spin in circles all the way down the hill if you would like. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! http://www.freeboard.com/main.html

Facebook was meant just for college students. But then they opened it up to everybody. Sucks now...

Sounds like a plan for now.

How high a fall can you survive?
Mark24688m replied to nanobyte's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sometimes during the first few landings 40-50 feet can look like 10. Especially if you have no experience with judging altitudes. And especially if you are looking straight down. -
They break your heart and they don't even care. It's not right.

If men can be called dicks, why can't women be called the 'C' word?

How many lines breaking/snapping would cause you to cutaway
Mark24688m replied to Mark24688m's topic in Safety and Training
so, how many? Im looking for a good answer to use as a general rule. Assume the steering lines are fine, because if i had a broken steering line i would cutaway anyway considering I have absolutely no experience landing with the rear risers. -
Hahahaha good think im not an eagles fan. I actually hate football altogether.

Anybody who is lived/has lived in vancouver care to comment?
-
Calling all Vancouverites! Whats the nightlife like in vancouver? From what I hear its not a party city AT ALL compared to places like boston, philly, nyc, etc since there is only 1 or 2 universities. Ive been told after the sun sets the parties are almost non-existent. Thats the thing I love about places like Philly. You can walk through the streets around drexel/upenn etc at 1am and the streets are FILLED with people partying, literally every weekend. E-A-G-L-E-S chants going on left and right. Ahhh home.
