Whenever we make "planned" meals we'll have him participate so that he can learn. Last weekend was homemade pizza (which he really liked). I've taken him grocery shopping to teach him how to pick produce, cleaning techniques... etc etc. LOL Despite all this, I get a phone call on the way home from work "Gia, how do you boil water?" We are trying to teach him. Let's just say that 18 years of programming, and continued coddling by his Mother is a tangled web. ex. Mom does not feel that her son should work, we do. I'll try to keep to the facts... Soon to be 19 year old: - living at home; free room and board - attends private art college (cost is approx. $5500 every 10 weeks) - does not work, nor has he ever. Pushes back when addressed about it - does not cook, nor know how - does not clean, nor know how - does not pay own cell bill, and exceeds minutes almost monthly - does not pay own auto insurance - does not register for his own classes - does not order / nor pay for his books / supplies - does his own laundry - does have attitude - does spend a good portion of his free time playing video games Does feel we as the parents are too hard on him... Thanks Andy, great information. When dealing directly with the airline, were you able to do everything over the phone? Or would it be better for me to go to a ticket agent at the airport. I have several airport choices, two of which are small, so it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to go directly to the airport - just curious if I would get better service... hmmm Thanks again! Some airlines will accept an impending death statement from the hospital, with the actual copy of death cert. provided after the travel. Some airlines don't offer anything anymore... Such a pain, but I understand the reasoning behind it, too many scammers out there make it difficult for the people with the true emergencies! I remember when my Mom and I had to return from Japan for my Grandfathers funeral. Anyone have experience with the airlines in regards to using bereavement fares? We have several family members that will require air travel, I'm curious if it would be better just to book the trip now, and pay the change fee when the death actually happens, or wait to book using the bereavement fare... Well my prediction was correct. The American version of Lisbeth was a pale comparison to the original IMO. The original Lisbeth looked comfortable in the part and in the persona she portrayed whereas the American version one looked like a victim of a bad hair cut and dye job and came off more as an Emo kiddy than a Punker. As for the movie itself, as long as it is, I still felt like it was rushed. The plot and character development seemed to be rushed and not as well done as the original film. Not to mention that there seemed to be a few deviations in the storyline from the original. It's been awhile since I saw the original so I will have to go back and see if it's my memory of all 3 films or if this new film took some detours as I think it did. Overall, the new one is an OK film if you've never seen the original but I much prefer the original Lisbeth and movie to this new one. The Trent Reznor song was probably the best thing to come out of this film and will probably see lots of mileage in the new year is my guess. Have to agree with Lou. I originally gave it a 3.5 out of 5, but after going home and watching the EU movie, I took it down to a 2.5.
