  1. Hi, I've seen a few people attach their GoPro to the shoulder harness of their rigs with thick rubber bands. Has anyone else seen this who can tell me how to properly attach the gopro so it won't fall off? (maybe there's even some video footage)
  2. The cage is really cool. It's excellent quality and I have it side mounted with the hypeye connected. Works like a charm! Have fun with the cage! Mike
  3. Hi Jarno, Thanks. I just downloaded streamclip, and saved my clip as a .mov but I still have the same problem.. Is that what you meant: "save as" and then choose .mov?
  4. Hi, Whenever I try to import my GoPro r3 footage in FCP7 I get an error Message: "unkown Error". My Import settings are 720p60, I tried both HDV and HDV Apple ProRes 422. Has anyone had or heard of this problem?
  5. I use the packaging mount that the Go Pro is mounted on when you get it. It is slightly curved and has a long hole on either side - perfect for your shoe laces and mounting the camera on your shoes.
  6. I returned it ;) I got it to work with the WVGA setting on the GoPro.. I wish it would work with 720p though.
  7. So I wanna debrief students with GoPro Footage using my new iPad ;) I don't have the camera connection kit yet but I tried importing videos into the iPad with IPhoto.. that worked with normal .mp4 files but not with the .mp4 from the Gopro. The iPad supports 720p with 30fps. I used that setting in the goPro (r2). But Itunes won't let me import the file. The Error Message was: The Video was not copied to the iPad because it cannot be played on the iPad. Here are the specs of the two videos I tried to upload to the Ipad. The first one worked the second one (GoPro) didn't. Random .mp4 skydiving video: Dimensions: 320x240 Codecs: MPEG-4 Video, AAC, MPEG-4 SDSM, MPEG-4 ODSM, Hint Audio Channels: 2 Total Bit Rate: 750 GoPro Video: Dimensions: 1280×720 (note: 30fps) Codecs: H.264, AAC Audio Channels: 2 Total Bit Rate: 8.342 Does anyone know what the issue is? Anyone?, Anyone? DSE? ;)

  9. Does anyone know if blackeye lenses are sold in the US, and how they compare to other ultra wide lenses qualitywise!

  12. Yup .. just did.. Talked to friends, received a PM and got a mail from UPT. They all said it would fit but it will be tight..
  13. Hey Guys, I'm putting together an event at my DZ next year where the goal is to have some awesome days doing all kinds of senseless, stupid fun jumps ( zoo dives, hoop dives, etc )and contests. I'm trying to get some ideas together so that it will be a super wicked weekend!! If you have any crazy Ideas please post away!! ....Oh yeah and how does the contest with landing, cutting away, doing the 10 turns around the pole, doing the waterslide etc. work?
  14. The chart says that it will fit a 111 velo (tight) which is crossbraced, that's why I thought it might fit... but i really have no idea.. that's why I'm asking..
  15. Hi, I know it's not on the chart but does anyone have experience fitting a Crossfire 129 (150jumps) into a V319 Vector container? thanks, Mike
  16. Cool thanks :) I'll do that too! Thanks for your tip to use soap to get the weather cover back on :) Cya, Mike
  17. Hi, I want to remove the DC in and A/V R Lid od the camera in order for it to take up less space in the box. Has anyone tried this? I have already removed the hand holding strap by unscrewing a part of the camera housing, but I can't find a way to access the attachment of the DC IN cover, and I only want to cut it off as a last resort.. Mike
  18. Okay.. a bit more detail.. since jump 350 I did some jumps with demo canopies (about 5 each on the katana 150 and storm 150) I just used only toggles and RR on both. I found both glide angles to be very steep in comparison to the Pilot, Stiletto and Spectre, which I didn't like at all- I like flatly trimmed canopies more. I continued jumping my Pilot 168 until my Stiletto had a new line set. (up to jump 400 aprox.) I then started to jump the stiletto 150.. I hated the openings but admit that I was also quite used to the pilots very soft and consistent openings. I jumped the stiletto for another 30 jumps or so. The openings were really hard each jump, so while jumping the stiletto I was already looking around for a new canopy.. Other than the openings I found the stiletto to have a nice glide angle, trimmed quite flatly.. I had almost no problems getting back to the dz after a long spot. The toggle control range is more in height your ears as opposed to the pilot and Crossfire where the toggle input rage is more at elbow height. I found the stiletto to be a bit more responsive than the pilot but I need to say that I was still just getting used to the stiletto and was not yanking it around a lot, I was flying it the way it felt like to fly the pilot. The stilettos flare was nice. I felt I had a bit less- but enough flare at the end than with the bigger pilot. Shortly before buying the Crossfire2 I found out how to make the stiletto open softer.. but I already had commited myself to flying a different canopy. I decided to go for an Icarus canopy because it came highly recommended from other jumpers- with special emphasis on the openings. I always jump with a camera and often with a still as well so that was important to me. I fell in love with the Crossfire right after the first opening.. The openings are long.. approx 1000ft+ with mine.. but also very, very smooth. Since changing to the Crossfire I always pull around 300ft higher than with other canopies. I really like the Crossfire's responsiveness, trim, and flare characteristics.. Sometimes I am still surprised at how fast it is on a no wind day.. I feel very very comfortable with the canopy after 70 jumps (all in this year) and am now starting to use double front risers on landing and am practising 90° and 180° FR turns at altitude.. At altitude I have the feeling that it recovers from a dive quite quickly, which may be due to my wing loading being at the bottom range of icarus's recommendation. On a slow FR 180 with 2sec recovery I lose about 600ft.. I would always recommend to not do quick and hard toggle inputs when changing to a smaller elliptical canopy.. there is one video of a guy who did that with a sabre2 150 and got himself into a line twist at a low altitude resulting in a low cutaway and skyhook reserve deployment. This also happened to a good friend of mine a month ago under a 150 stiletto and at a low altitude leading to a very low cutaway.. Luckily nothing happened. I would recommend to first try to imitate the flight characteristics of your larger and maybe less elliptical canopy with the new one rather than using the same toggle inputs you were used to on the larger canopy and appling them to the new canopy.. Last but not least all my landings since jump 120 have been stand up landings (or running) and I have always felt very comfortable under each canopy up to now.. I also always try to get away from my home DZ a lot and ask people about their gear and opinions on gear at other DZ's.. It's amazing how people's opinions on gear and procedures change once you're away from home.. Hope that's better
  19. Hey Guys.. here I am 150 jumps later.. I tested a few canopies and am now jumping a Crossfire 2 149.. I'm really happy with it, I love the openings. Thanks again for your input! Mike
  20. Concerning magnetic riser covers.. a friend of mine has an old rig where the riser covers always come open. He sowed in some magnets and now has a rig with magnetic riser covers
  21. Don't take Drugs! Try to eat healthy stuff or don't eat at all (or only once a day) if you can't find anything healthy.. Then try to do some exercise 3x a week- like 30minutes.. If you're hungry drink lots of water and have some coffee instead.. And next time... use condoms
  22. Get well soon!! All the best!! Mike

    Sit Carving

Hey Guys.. how do you sit carve in the sky? I can sit carve in the tunnel leaning back with both hands on my head (although I'm not quite sure how I do it ;).. But when I try in the sky even with really big movements. it just doesen't work. I just stay static and fall faster.. Any pointers before I get coaching??? Thanks!
