Amen to that, in fact, there are a lot of people now-a-days who buy the BIG trucks and S.U.V.'s because they feel that they get a bigger piece of the road that way. Sorry, but especially S.U.V. drivers - most of the people who have them aren't going to use them as 'Sport Utility Vehicles' - they're goin' to the mall and will gladly run you over on the way there because they're bigger than you and they can. They are urban assault vehicles. So watch out and be safe my friend! THAT is probably the best analogy I have yet to hear! Where ever did you find that quote? That is PERFECT!!!!!! I couldn't agree more w/ both of you...that quote should have been in Jennr8r's thread yesterday or the day before...she had one going w/people contributing their fav's - this is my new fav! I should also add it's my new favorite because sometimes I do hold on to things longer that I shouldn't waste energy on. Not over small stuff like "you didn't invite me to your party!", but a few years ago there was one person at work who felt I was a threat. Long story short, this person set out to take me down. Boy, did I ever get a lesson in how determined and vicious someone can be. And for a long time whenever I thought of this person, I fumed inside...time has lessoned the anger but I still couldn't quite free myself of it until I saw that quote and a light bulb went off and I found the path - thank you! Yea!! Well, not to the wetting your pants part, but to actually setting up a time and getting out there. I'm so excited for you...I remember my first, I was so scared but sooo excited - kinda like sex for the first time - and you'll remember this just as much! You'll never forget the name of the person you jump with. I still feel bonded to my first jumpmaster (Ross) - he's the first person I trusted my life to, so I will always hold him dear as he got me down safely and made it a great experience. You are going to be so glad you went. And just like you don't care what people think of your drink order, don't care what anyone thinks of the fact you're going to jump. People either have one of two reactions to skydiving: you're either totally cool or you're totally crazy - there really isn't anything in between. Well, I'd say I hope you have a good time but I already know you will. Oh, I love it when there's a new convert! I don't order my drinks in order to appear anything. I order what I'm in the mood for, and that usually indicates how much trouble I'm planning on getting into! I hear ya! ***I couldn't care less what anybody else thinks about me based on my drink order! But then again, I'm old, and I've got noone to impress......*** This is exactly where I'm at... I am 35 and holding...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!! Well, you and I will have to go out for a drink because I also have never developed a taste for beer or the bitter drinks. I will have a Corona occasionally at the at the end of the night when I'm at the drop zone if it's really hot, and the Corona's really cold, and there's nothing else to drink - but I think maybe real beer drinkers don't consider Corona real beer anyway. And I love a good margarita! And I've seen plenty of women ordering beer when the boys are around to look casual and easy going,etc., and the men they attract eventually find out that they are anything but. Same thing happens w/wine - they talk about this being peppery and that being floral, and I've had several of my guy friends saying "I thought she was so cool, but she's nuts!". So I don't think someone's drink order is necessarily a good barometer of their personality or level of sophistication - I just think it's their drink order. But the article was fun to think about! I remember a couple yrs. ago there was a story on one of those news shows (20/20, Primtetime) about a young guy who fell off an aircraft carrier - no one realized he went missing for something like 72hrs. - and he survived by doing something like this. (I don't know if he put his head in the "V" though). He said some tribal fisherman found him and brought him to shore, I think off the coast of north Africa. Then it turned into a mess w/his parents asking why didn't the navy know he was not accounted for, why didn't they search sooner,better...then the navy doubted his story, and to be honest I kinda doubted his story because I thought who uses their pants to float on???...now I know!!
