  1. To this day, my pop doesn't let me forget about that.
  2. You're right, I'll have to come out one of these weekends. I'd love to jump a rear-exit .
  3. When I was 3 or 4, I was fascinated with the pop-up e-brake in my dad's pickup. We'd stopped for the night in N-Cali, somewhere on the American river. My folks left my sister and I in the truck (at the top of a sloped parking lot) while they went in to check out the hotel (on stilts, between the parking lot and a cliff with the river below). Curiousity got the best of me and I released the brake. The truck rolled down the parking lot and hit one of the support stilts, while my sister screamed and my folks watched on in horror from inside the hotel office. I don't think my dad ever did a better job of tanning my ass.
  4. :0:0 Too windy to go jump. Anyone else get some airtime this weekend?
  5. Nitro was one I didn't demo, tho I did try a Sabre2-170 (recognize the stock PD colors in your pic). I got my new Pilot-168 last week, that's a fun canopy . You making it down to Florida on your trip?
  6. I posted about the Civic-SI last week and pretty much everyone seems to like them. The price is right, but a Civic's a bit small for my taste. I find myself thinking that it'd be nice to have a vehicle where the driver's-side back-seat is useful to a 6'3" driver. In short, I'd be all over an Accord-SI if they made it . With freeflychris' post about his new Hyundai, I decided to see what they offer in the same price-range. The 2 vehicles I'm looking at are the Sonata and the Santa Fe. Anybody own these cars?
  7. Well, Florida's definitely in 'the South'. Some of my Air Force buddies didn't seem to appreciate my reference to Texas as 'the South' when I was there . In either case, I don't see how you get much further south. I agree that room-temperature is mighty high around here. We'll soon be in the season where electricity is insanely expensive to keep it down, even for an apartment .
  8. I like to grate orange-peel over desserts/pastries. My old style of eating the peel seems a little extreme nowadays .
  9. Sweet!! I'll have to chill some red when I go out to visit next week.
  10. I didn't know that. Here I am, trying to be a rebel. Chilling my red, filling the improper glass to the brim; basically throwing all the wine etiquette my mom taught me out the window . Basically going for the wine-equivalent of running with scissors. Turns out I'm not so far out, at least on one aspect.
  11. As a little guy, I'd bite right into oranges, eating them complete with the peels.
  12. Call me a rebel but for some reason, I like to chill red wine . It just seems a lot more refreshing to me when it's cold. Anyone else like cold red?
  13. I can't say I blame him. I'd have a pretty fierce reaction too if someone tried to trim too close to my male parts . I think I'll be giving the girls (at least Abby) a good brushing tomorrow. I saw hair just flying off her in sun today. Also realized that my D-bag was pretty well covered in cat hair after I packed in my living room . The wet towel trick sounds like a plan, will have to try it tomorrow.
  14. Nice, looks like she's enjoying every minute of it.
  15. I suppose a brushing would be helpful. I tend to give them a bath beforehand to reduce the flying hair tho.
  16. I wish my cats enjoyed the attention of getting trimmed. They put up with it for a little while, then look at me like I'm the devil . Here's after I trimmed them up a few months ago. More sessions followed, and it helped the shedding quite a bit
  17. So how do you deal with your babies' winter-coats, when they start to really shed? I've been letting my girls enjoy the afternoon sun on the porch before it gets too hot, and they're losing lots of hair . Anybody give their puppy/kitty a pre-summer trim
