Absolutely.... In theory in Scotland one you get "life" and are released you are out on license and if you reoffend you can be placed back in prison, although I am not sure how often this is applied.

Peaceful Jefferey This correct, but situation dependent. There is a case recently in England where a home owner shot the bloke who was breaking into his house, and ended up in prison, go figure. Yip, as stated if you really want one you can get it, ask Kennedy about the black market. The ban isn't keeping guns from all criminals, but it at very least makes it more difficult, and will generally keep them out of the hands of school kids etc a good thing as far as I am concerned.

Maybe, but there is a difference from a career criminal and your average thug in the street who just now may use knifes and bottles, and I would prefer these people didn't have guns. I would also prefer that things like the Dumblane massacre, or Columbine can't happen, I realise of course this isn't possible, but I don't see any reason to facilitate it.

For once I agree with you, that is a unusually well thought out argument. Pretty difficult if your a kid, well more difficult than going to your parents drawer. I am certain that your feeling that its your right to have a gun will overpower what I consider to be reason, but just consider it briefly the next time you hear about a kid getting shot, or opening fire on a school.

The point was in our country it is difficult (relatively) to get access to guns.....and I would like to keep it that way....in the event of a MILITIA my opinion may switch although I doubt it Your right, he wouldn't have shot them, at the thought he was going to be incarcarated. Another thought also, give the shop owner a gun in that scenario which he uses and he will do time... No one is saying the law is perfect, but it is the best one we have just now. Maybe, but I can justify my opinion....several innocent children have been slaughtered recently over here due to the increase in availability of guns. I was working during the week on my PhD, and working at the weekends fixing computers, and found myself generally bored....so thought I would try and find something interesting to do....had done martial arts on and off for years and didn't think that was going to cut it, snowboarding in scotland is a bit of joke, then the idea of going skydiving seemed appealing.... 2) How long have you been jumping? How many jumps do you have? 3 and a bit years.....470, not as much as I would like, but jumping in Scotland you take what you can get, and get abroad as much as you can afford. 3)What method of training did you do? AFF......I did a static line jump when I had about 150 jumps, just to see what it was like

We used to tell them that if they went through a cloud not to breathe in as they are poisonous....it certainly makes them double take....

Just an observation.... If he is prepared to rob the shop, and beat the employees for what ever reason, I don't think he would be that bothered about shooting them, seeing as he would probably get 3-5 years for just the robbery (armed). It may be off the wall but I would like it to remain semi-difficult for these idiots to get access to guns.

I don't really get your point to be honest, I would have thought that due to the fact that tunnel time is becoming increasingly more important in skydiving that this alone would make it relevant.... How many of the top teams freeflying and FS are using the tunnel (all of them), I appreciate that you can't do CRW, or improve canopy skill etc but this can be countered by the fact that you would consider someone who has only done a static line jump (no freefall) a skydiver (or I would anyway) Hence my point is, the tunnel is now an important part in skydiving, although admittedly annoyingly expensive one

Gran Canaria will be cool...... If I could afford it I would be going to the Eloy boogie, as its really cool out there!!!!! Have fun!
