  17. well yeah that would be the smart thing to do, and how you would exit low. but it doesn't refute the point that when stressed people are going to rely on reflexes not thinking. but HYPOTHETICALLY say you woke up out of a dream or something and were falling through the air with a rig on your back and your first though is, "holy crap i need to pull!" i bet most people reach back and flick out their main cuz thats what people to do stop the skydive. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  18. people don't override their training. when stressed they revert to it more strongly. its just like people who practice 2 hands for cutaway handles and reserves for 300 jumps after doing their 1st aff the other way and then do it the way they first learned it when they actually cutaway. fixing the training, or like scott said following the correct training is the only way to go. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  19. yeah! post it so we can make fun of him. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  20. yessssssssss word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  21. thats clearly not what i meant. i enjoy flying, and i don't need to understand the aerodynamics of it to do so. however to have a sensible discussion of aerodynamics. a brief knowledge of the terms and forces involved makes it tremendously easier for everyone else to understand you. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  22. to heffro: dude you are talking about the flow still being attached to you (attached vs detached) both laminar and turbulent flows are attached. now to everyone: no offense or anything but im pretty sure 90% of us should go take an aero engineering refresher course, or an intro before we continue on in this discussion. arguing about it on the internet is pretty much teh worst way to learn it ever. there are some people that understand it correctly, but you can't teach someone aero on dorkzone. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  23. you should make one on your own! that would be sweet. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  24. true i totally forgot about those thingies in regards to this discussion/advanced aero stuff. well im ready to try vacuum boundary layer suction on my wingsuit, the tiny fans are gonna suck from the top of my wing then also inflate into the wing itself. all powered by 50 9 volt batteries placed around the wingsuit, orrr 1 big battery, feeding the vacuums through christmas tree lights, which will in turn make me look super sick and lit up as my boundary layers are far more attached than the rest of yous's word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
  25. rough stuff isn't to slow air down. its to keep the boundary layer turbulent, which keeps it attached to the wing longer, which gives you more lift. thats why the balls have dimples. so you'd want rough stuff on the top of the wing. i don't think we're there yet on wing suits, i dunno but im guessing our boundary layers are pretty damn turbulent as things are. word to your mother, RJ$$ BASE 1117
