  18. I started in 73 also.In Covington,La.We had an annual Mardi Gras Parachute Meet...which started out as accuracy.....Then we had three man scrambles......three man...backloop....three man. When Greene County took over it changes to 10 way speed scrambles. At that time the name changed to boogie to draw people that didnt want to compete...but just have fun....or boogie.Also...Man changes to Way.....PC
  19. I had a Paradactyl for a while....No honking down on toggle pleaseThat will give you about 3or4 more seconds of freefall
  20. Oh yea...The loop was elastic.....you would pinch togeather the bridle and stick it about 1 inch through the loop.We had a friend go in with a twisted bellyband...so shortly after that Hrebie Graves developed the Herbie Hog....pilotchute pouch on the riser. The handle was right next to your head in freefall. It was a great idea at the time...but at first glance it looked scarry and different.
  21. When they first came out the pouch was on a soft belly band.....twist the belly band....throw out and you have a pilot chute in tow.
  22. The Lafayette crew used to jump there in the late 70s early 80s.Ill never forget the guy(Dennis I think) that could SNORT a raw oyster up his nose...cough it up into his mouth and spit it out! He did this for us at a resturant one night....Dwayne Brouette grabbed the spit out ,snorted oyster....and ate it!! That cleared the table of about thirty jumpers.
  23. Condolences to Roger's Family. He was such a nice fellow.Didnt know a stranger.......I consider myself privleged to talk to him at length during the bad weather at Mardi Gras.I had been following his career since the seventies. If heaven can get any better....It will be with him there.
