Sunday 1 July 4-way Scrambles. Did you take part in the scrambles on April 29? If not you missed a great day! It wasn't a high scoring competition at all but everyone had a laugh, jumped with different people, learnt loads and some even did their first 4 ways. We even had some freeflyers come over to the dark side and fly on their belly (that was a site to see I can tell you). Well as everyone had a great time we're going to do it again. As before, no registration fee. Just 3 jump tickets. If we decide as a group that we want video it should be less than $20 each to have video of all three rounds of the competition. Just be at the DZ and register your interest Saturday afternoon or Sunday before 8.30am. At the end of the day they'll be Beach Jumps where you can jump into SBI. C license minimum and floatation gear required. Floatation gear can be hired from manifest for a deposit. Jump ticket prices will be confirmed on the day but are not usually more than $25. As well as all this (what there's more?) we are working on an extra aircraft and getting Vigil (AAD manufacturer) and UPT (manufacturer of the Vector and Skyhook) to come out too. Will give you more info on this when it's confirmed... Guys and Gals - You really should do all you can to come out and make the most of this weekend. Learn what you can from these great coaches. Coaching is usually around $20 per jump on top of your slot and your coaches. Check out www.skydivesebastian.com for more info. See you there! 6. I did a search but can't find anything. Only talk of the 79 dive pool which I have saved and will look at tonight. Thank you! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
7. Hi Does anyone know where I can find old IPC dive pools. I'm basically looking for old randoms (and maybe some blocks) that were in previous dive pools for a scrambles I'm organising. Thanks in advance Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
8. Never jumped there but haven't heard any bad stuff about it. Check out that UK site though as you'll get more info from there as most of the UK jumpers rarely come on dropzone.com now. www.ukskydiver.co.uk Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
9. And when I was in the Uk I used to drive 2 1/2 hours every weekend to go to Hibaldstow. That place rocks! It also has a few Dorniers and a Finist. Usually they'll be at least one Dornier there and it takes 15 people to 15k in 15 minutes! If they can get you in the air they will. Definitely worth a trek one weekend. 10. Hey I went to Hinton a few years ago and found it was a little clicky. Things may have changed though. Check out www.ukskydiver.co.uk as most of the UK jumpers are on there now. Has lots of info on UK DZ's and each one has there own thread in the forum. D Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
11. This weekend at Skydive Sebastian. 4-Way scrambles. Register Friday evening or 8am Saturday morning. Meeting at 8.30am to announce dives and teams. There will be 3 rounds, each a 3 point random dive. All experience levels needed! Come along and show off your skills or if your a beginner take the opportunity to get some free coaching from the experienced guys (and of course girls). If belly jumps are not your thing and you prefer video, then come along and video some of the dives. When the sun sets we'll be having night jumps. Minimum B licence. If you have glow sticks and/or a strobe please bring them. Otherwise you can purchase them from the DZ. See you there Dee Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
12. She's not an actress but Belgian Tennis star Justine Henin-Ardenne (or however it's spelt) jumps too. Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
13. There's a new website called www.ukskydiver.co.uk where you may get a better reply. I used to jump in the UK but have been in Florida for about 6 months so not too sure what's going on at home nowadays... Edited to make it a clickable link! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
14. Hey Wendy is no longer at the DZ. Dave is the rigger there and if you call the dropzone they can put you in contact with him. Unfortunately, they don't do the $15 to 15k on a Friday anymore though. The DZ number is (772) 388-5672 On 23-25 March is the March Madness Casino night Boogie where last years event saw everyone dress up in their posh frocks and best suits for a great time. Lots of RW organising with Roger Ponce and Lyle Presse and FF organising with Luis and more! Hope to see you there! D Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
15. Have you thought of Florida? Skydive Sebastian is just over an hour waay from Orlando. So that may keep the girlfiriend happy as everyone knows there is heaps to do there! Plus it's about 20 minutes from the beach too. And of course there's the wind tunnel in Orlando opposite wet and wild too. If your girlfriend doesn't skydive then maybe she'd like a few minutes in the wind tunnel instead! The views from the air are awesome!!! Has to be the prettiest dropzone I've ever jumped at. You can camp at the DZ for free or check out the webiste for local accomodation. Some I believe offer skydiver rates too! At the DZ there's also a gear shop, Zoo bar and Tiki bar. Again check out te website for more pics and info. www.skydivesebastian.com And another bonus is the cost of the AFF itself. It's just $1100 if you pay for the whole course up front (it's about $1300 if you pay for each level individually). With the current exchange rate that's only about 600GBP. Once you finish your AFF course, jumps after that are only $45. Like I said, check out www.skydivesebastian.com, message me on here or e-mail [email protected] for more info. Hope this helps! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
16. If you pay for the whole package up front at Sebastian it's $1100. For people who have completed a tandem anywhere in Florida you get a discount on your level 1. Call them for more info or check out the website. It is definitely the prettiest as its just a few miles from the coast. On clear days you can see Kennedy space centre too! www.skydivesebastian.com Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
17. Sebastian! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
18. Hi I also got my AFFI rating in December last year and had just 6 hours of freefall and 372 jumps when I finished the course. I've done only about 9 groundschools and 9 AFF jumps since and i love it and am so glad I did it! The instructors here wouldn't let me do the jumps and the groundschools if they didn't think I was capable and had the ability to do it. I've been in the sport for almost three years (not very long I know) but have spent a lot of time at DZ's learning from others (mainly instructors and very experienced jumpers). If you have a goal, go for it but don't get disappointed if you don't get it first time. Keep working for it and towards it and you'll get there. Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
19. In Sebastian you can camp for free and they also have team rooms. Contact the DZ to find out more on the team rooms. There is talk of turning them into bunk rooms so by November you shouldn't have a problem. They don't have washing machines but do have showers but a few have mentioned getting some coin operated ones. And of course the DZ is very friendly and there are some great boogies coming up! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
20. And we now have a new packing hangar (like the old one ripped down by the hurricane) and the new tiki bar is making great progress too... Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
21. Hi all The boyfriend and I are going to head down to Melbourne (as we're sick of the rain in Sydney) and want a nice friendly dropzone. We're flat flyers but are trying to learn to freefly but want to be able to camp there. I've had a look on this website and the APF website but can't really find much info on jump prices or facilities as the sites seem to be aimed at people doing tandems. Are the DZ's there like this too? We'll also have no transport from either the bus station or the airport so any tips on getting there would be great too! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
22. Hiya My boyfriend and I are planning on going to Deland on 1 November. We've not heard good things about the bunkhouse there so was wondering if you could let me know... a) What are the nearest hotels, rooms for rent near Deland? We don't have a car so it needs to be walking distance b)Is anyone passing Orlando Airport at around 5pm headed towards Deland? Thanks! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
23. Tomorrow around midday? We're flying into SF and can make our way this far but would be grateful for a lift the rest if anyone is passing. Please text 347-579-9095 and we'll call you back! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
24. Hi all Me and the boyfriend are going to be arriving into San Fransisco on 22nd September. Can you recommend any DZ's near there, where we could stay and how much it will cost to stay there. Next, we may be looking for a lift to the DZ too if anyone can help... We will be making our way through California, taking in Elsinore and Perris and then across to Eloy, leaving there on 1 November. Any suggestions, advice or lifts greatly appreciated! Come on, sell us your DZ! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
25. Lots of developments in the investigations today. They believe 3 of 4 of the bombers are from Leeds in West Yorkshire. One possibly from Luton. They got the train down, met the other one at Leeds then got off at Kings Cross. The Police believe at least one, if not all four were killed in the explosions. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4676577.stm Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
