    Dirty Joke

I heard a good one lately. Please add yours, and try to limit the seriously personal offensive kind. Its meant to start a fun thread. What do you call an anorexic with a yeast infection? A quarter pounder with cheese. Cheers.
  2. Ahhh law firm work. Remember the small talk, your an attorney, they are attorneys, they will already expect you to know them and the law. That is a given. They are looking for a person, not just another attorney. Hundreds of applicants out there. You got the interview because they were interested. They are going to lunch and not billing hours because they expect a strong candidate. Be polite engage in small talk, ask polite questions. Here is a great hint.. All attorneys have degrees on their "ego walls" take notice of where your interviewers went to school. i.e a rival to FSU? Have fun relax and learn. Good luck
  3. Holy crap, I had to log in just to say I didnt know where this was going but it made me laugh. Thanks for the giggle
  4. I know one of the best spots in the world to watch a big lightning storm. Normal, IL Watterson Towers 24th floor observation Let me explain a bit. Watterson is a college dormitory, worlds tallest at 26 stories. A monster. It is smack in the middle of Illinois, being Illinois there is little terrain, except flat cornfields. On a late spring night huge lightning storms roll in and you can see them from miles out. Loved that view in college.
  5. Does anyone know anything about the DZ in Rolla, MO? I can not locate a website, USPA has them listed but very limited information other than a phone number. Any news would be helpful. Thank you
  6. Can I have my bag of doobage????Quote
  7. Bad idea, it may give the peson the idea that your there on some other companies time and dime. Remember they don't know you yet. Let them make their impressions through information you give them. They can find out your employment history when you give it to them.
  8. Lurch I will give you all the good vibes you could need, but here is something a little more practical. In my job I interview people about every other month for a position as one of my employees. So here are some tips. Be enthusiastic about the job. Be knowledgeable about the job, AND the company. Do not talk bad about your old job/boss, stay positive. Be professional and courteous and look presentable. Come prepared to ask questions about the position. For God sake take pen and paper to take notes. Have realistic questions about the job. Dont ask up front about salary. Salary/compensation are most times negotiable and realistic. Wait for a job offer to get into salary within reason. Spellcheck a resume!!!!!!!! A good job applicant is great. However, in my experience a good applicant, well prepared and ready will always win out.
  9. Oh and added bonus for being paged on a DZ by, "Paging Dr. ........" Double bonus for being the sexy, skydiving doctor.
  10. Well I should think this one is easy. I assume that the medical courses i.e med school would be applicable to nursing school and learn valueable information toward a nursing career, Whereas the nursing ciriculum would not be sufficient to meet med school requirements. Go with med school and if needed you can later go toward nursing. Remember the person in last place in med school still gets called Doctor.

Actually I gave this a little bit of thought today, if someone did a note loan for say a "vacation" and placed credit life coverage on the loan, if anything were to happen. The debt would be covered. Unless a loan officer is "controlling funds" for paying off an item, they have no right whatsoever on telling someone how to spend their money. It is entirely the persons personal decision. Besides, I know the silly knee jerk reaction of a whuffo about such a loan, but people on here should know that skydiving risks can be controlled.

    I did good

I am a branch manager of a financial company, and today I did a loan for a guy for $2000, with the purpose of him getting his A license. Gotta love helping someone get into the sport, and for only about $75/mo. I thought he got a hell of a deal.
  18. Are we using the secret sauce at, or after Mcdonalds?
  19. Right after. I like to "Tarzan" Just let out a big old yell at the top of your lungs, wake/scare the neighbors. Then just collapse, man that is good stuff.
  20. You must have been tackled by the beer gorilla. You know when you have been hit by the beer gorilla, the next morning you have a headache, bruises you can't explain, he takes all the twenties out of your pockets and crumbles up 1 dollar bills and puts them back in.
  21. I think I may have this won, An actual quote that landed me in jail for the only time in my life. College dormitory, after a night of drinking. Police had been called for a fight. I was not part of the fight. They lined up a bunch of guys in the lobby, and started to frisk us, trying to figure out who were the guys in the fight. A cop is patting me down, and in my front pants pocket was my set of keys. He asks 'What is that?" My immortal reply, "That is my dick sir, and before you can touch it again you have to buy me dinner." 1 night in jail and $200 dollar fine for underage drinking.
  22. You smell worse than the crotch on a dead hooker washed up at high tide.
  23. I would strongly recommend looking at your credit report. This will be the very information that the lender is basing the loan decision upon, you should know the exact number of accounts you have. Many people don't realize the numerous items that are on a credit report, power bills, cell phones, cable bills and so on. There is also the possibilty of inaccurate information. Have this information and you can answer any question a loan officer may throw at you. Check out these websites, for finding more information on your specific school and available loans. http://www.studentaid.ed.gov/students/publications/student_guide/2003_2004/english/types.htm http://studentloan.citibank.com/slcsite/fr_apnow.htm PLEASE do not consider this an endorsement. SHOP around as much as possible to find the best deal, but try first for a Stafford loan. If you must go the loan route. Defermemt means there would be NO payments for a fixed period of time. This is NOT the same as interest only. Have you asked about any scholarships or possible Pell Grants? Is the person at school working from the financial aid office????? GET as much information as possible. 12k is a serious investment treat it as such. Hope I am helping.
  24. Angela A little help coming your way...... Fyi, I am a Financial Representative for a financing company. The risk of unemployment of a client is a risk a financing company must take when extending credit. There will be questions in regards to your current employment status at the time of the loan, but there is no way for a financing company to predict the future, nor is there anyway an individual can guarantee future income. I am guessing that Flordia is a "at will" work state. Therefore, the majority of people can not represent or guarantee that they will have employment for the duration of the loan. FURTHERMORE, educational funding is usually deferred..... Make sure the credit is deferred. It means that the loan would not be repaid til some time after the completion of education. This gives you the opportunity to become employed and repay the loan. Before you secure financing check your credit. You can do this for free on this web site. www.annualcreditreport.com. It is federal law that each of the 3 major bureaus, provide you a free look once a year at your credit report. If you were to become deliquent on a loan, a financial institution can almost always demand the full balance at some point. Make arrangements through the schools financial aid office and you should be just fine.. If you have more specific questions, repost and I will try to answer them. DO
  25. Wee girl I believe I can help on this one............. Please forgive me if I get insurancey on you. And as for background, I am a Illinois licensed Health/Life insurance producer, so I do actually have experience and background on this. Your coverage will depend entirely on your risk. I.E what you choose to cover, you can have health insurance that would not cover specific activities. such as skydiving, this would be a "rider" on your policy. The skydiving aspect is going to spike your coverage across the board for nearly any provider. A much larger determination on your overall risk will be past medical history, smoker, children, married, age, occupation. Health insurance is almost always more expensive for women, and life insurance is almost always more expensive for men. Shop around, the internet is great for quotes of all kinds, start with major companies. Agents are there to offer goods and services, put the guys to work for you. Blue skies and good luck
