  1. How about something simple? Like "OH SHIT" I thought about putting that on my PD
  2. Dude, The DZ has it's own form of classism. Sky Gods don't associate with Newbies. I know some DZ's are immune to this, but there are plenty that aren't. A jumper with 100 jumps might be the coolest person ever, but is often ignored by Captain Dickhead. I remember reading complaint after complaint in The Parachutist about newbies leaving the sport because of how fast they are dropped after Student Status. As far as the rest of the world---wealth tends to attract. People seem to flock to the people with nice cars and never ending bar tabs. I think it has to do with options---and people seem to gravitate to action and status.
  3. My ex-girlfriend did some evil shit to me after we broke up. Here is her most civil one: She ran an add in our local classifieds advertising $500 plasma tv's (liquidation) and Free AKC Great Danes--champion blood lines--to good homes She put my number and specifically said "call early" For weeks I had assholes calling at 6:00am looking for dogs and tv's
  4. This dude is a genius. The first time I saw his site there were no outside adds--he must be making a killing-- Speaking of rabbits--check out this link http://www.savetoby.com/
  5. I have never jumped without my lucky shoes--They are duct taped now, but I can't fly without them. I once broke up with a girl for telling me "good-bye" as a was running to the plane. I have 2 chops--I kept the reserve handles only to put them in a shoe box---I will replace my current one if the event occurs again--I will never jump with a used handle. I don't want to push my luck and count on it to work twice haha!!!!
  6. We raise them--domesticated Jackelope---
  7. Jackelope is delicious!!!!
  8. How did Lord of the Shit(rings) beat Citizen Kane and about 200 other great movies? It's sad to admit, but I have seen all but 7
  9. Speaking of Mike McGowan, does anybody know the story of that double mal he had and was saved by a tree? I have heard it told 10 ways--whats the real story?
  10. Have you tried flat packing? I think it is easier to see what's going on every step of the way---I don't know what kind of room you have, but it may be worth looking into. I didn't start pro-packing until about 50 flat packs. By then I was pretty confident in myself and equipment. Once you jump your first self-packed chute your confidence level will rise--in fact, it was the first time I felt like a skydiver. EDIT to add: Like others have told you--it really is pretty hard to fuck up---
  11. Tandem Jumping is a great way to introduce the sport. I made my first jump in Vegas--out of the 4 friends that went out that day(99) I am the only one who is still jumping. I was also the one crying the loudest on the way up. It may have been the best dare I ever took. With that being said--I hate getting bumped off a load to accommodate a tandem, but I appreciate the fact that my home DZ still exists. With out the Tandem Tourist I would have to drive 200miles to another DZ. If you want to talk about a tandem factory, look at skydive LV. That DZO hates fun jumpers. I wanted to make my 500th jump there to commemorate my first--I was told I would have to land a few miles off and wait for a shuttle(where is the emoticon for KISS MY ASS?) I loved Eloy--you really don't notice the Tourists because they have so many jump aircraft---if all DZ's could be running two otters together than maybe we wouldnt have this discussion. SORRY FOR THE ESSAY
  12. Just wanted to introduce myself. I been in the sport for 5 years not counting this past year that I took off. I am getting back in and wanted to get some jumper energy before heading out. This is a great site with lot's of info.
