  1. Remo Läng uses a custom made aerodynamic helmet at competitions. https://flash.bcbe.ch/fileadmin/0318/02_Grenzen_im_Extremsport/Extremsport_Bildstrecke_1_1000x490.jpg Initially, I thought it would look cool, but now I'm tending to dorky... At least you can tell he's not an accuracy jumper (gäll, Remo ) No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...

  4. Try going through the menus several times during the first 10 seconds after switching on (before the home screen appears). Stop in photo mode and shoot a still. If this works, put it on video mode. Video should then work when started before exit. I had this problem after the second last fw upgrade. Couldn't change the fw anymore (by sd card). Only when a new fw upgrade was available through the GoPro SW I was able to change again. Since then, problem was gone. It looked like my previous fw upgrade went wrong, but couldn't be bothered to send the GoPro in (around the world) for reloading the fw with a programmer. The above sequence worked for me (weekend jumper). Thankfully, my cam works normally again, but in your case, I doubt there will be another fw upgrade for the 2... 5. ...or you could start paragliding. Plenty of schools around there, and at least you get up in the air. BTW, OB might be allright for Americans, but in Europe OB is a tampon brand. And Hite still tastes better than most american beers. No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...
  6. Ask the guys at Flyaway Pigeon Forge or Vegas Indoor Skydiving, where they get them from. The ones we use here in Switzerland are Rainbow Suits, which is probably the company you contacted. No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...

  9. Not sure if it is still in operation, but there was a Skyventure up in Genting. Too slow for hd, but fast enough for belly. And they always had very good rates. There was a bunch of expat jumpers flying there regularly when I was there, but that was before the Singapore tunnel opened... Genting Highlands is about an hour drive north of KL. http://www.rwgenting.com/en/themepark/rides/outdoor/skyventure/index.htm And by the way, KL is a cool city. If the pay is good, get the job. 11. The 747+ has got a longer lasting battery and bluetooth. There is a newer model (747pro) that also has a movement sensor, beeper and larger memory. I've got mine from Taiwan through ebay. I can't remember if it's possible to set the 5Hz with the included software. The BT747 software is free (open source) and works well. There are versions for PC, Mac, Linux and Java capable mobile devices. The photomate only has a "soft button" for on/off, the 5Hz mode stays. It might reset if the battery drains completely... 12. The M-1000C uses the MTKII chipset and can log at 5Hz (5 points per second). When the device is switched on, default settings are loaded. Sadly, the defaults on Holux devices cannot be set faster than 1Hz. But after switching on, it can be set to 5Hz with a MTK command, or by 3rd party software. I used the mobile (java) version of BT747 on my phone to do this before exit. But it's an additional hassle and if you forget, you log at 1Hz only. That's why I recommended the photoMate, which stays at 5Hz once it's set. Same applies for the i-Blue 747+, the photoMates bigger brother, also made by Transystem. 13. Get a flysight ! If you just want to log and go cheaper, buy a "photoMate 887 lite". It can log at 5Hz, is small and has a very good reception. The Holux can also be set to 5Hz, but goes back to 1Hz after power-off. 1Hz is ok to visualize the track flown. For numbers, you want at least 5Hz.
